Basic Carpentry (Sunset Books)

I was doing a little carpentry job in the back yard and not having much experience in these matters I needed something I could refer to regularly. I'm an old fashioned type and enjoy the feel of a good book instead of my iPad, iPhone or any other i. This answered all of my questions and gave me a few ideas that made the job much simpler than my original plan. Well illustrated, good information. Definitely for the novice and that's what I needed. Maybe a little dated in the tool section, but hey, if you can't work around that you probably shouldn't be around power tools anyway.

Book is good in the beginning when it goes over basic tools and materials but then switches to quickly to large projects like roofs and doors before it goes over simple things like a shelf or table.

Don't let the title of this book fool you. It is a very basic book on carpentry, but also has a lot of information I didn't know. I especially like the section that talks about framing.
