A mix of covers and original material performed and recorded in a super session of Suzi Quatro (solo act on bass and lead vocals ), Andy Scott ( of the band Sweet on guitars and vocals ) Don Powell (of the band Slade on drums and percussion ). All are glam rock superstars of the 70s and rock really well together. Too bad they are so involved in their respective careers to tour as a full time band together...this CD is killer ,glad I bought the deluxe version with the bonus cuts.

This is a great album and sounds even better on vinyl
This is a great album and sounds even better on vinyl. Vinyl has more tracks on it including super rendition of Fever. Since amazon.com has difficulties getting this album I suggest buying it on amazon.co.uk I just received it today within a week from order date and it was under $30 including shipping.

Classic Rock gave it 8 out of 10 stars with a good review. I agree and give it 4 out of 5. They cover a few songs as well as their own stuff and they do each very well.Their individual styles are still there from the Slade like heavy drumming to Suzies singing and Scotts guitar playing. These aging rockers have made a very good album that has a hint of there past but is refreshingly up to date. Of course we shoudn't be surprised by that as they have been around a long time but like someone else said it's a lot better than we could have expected.

Melodically Heavy With Some Light Moments
This is by far the best album I have heard in a long time. Suzi Quatro's voice is as good as ever. Quo would have been proud to record 'Bright Lights Big City'. The Vinyl has a gatefold sleeve with all the lyrics on it. To me, this sounds better than the CD which I also have. At the bottom of the sleeve notes, it say's 'We have created something we are proud of' and so they should be. I am listening to it while writing this. It seems to get better every time I put it on which is a lot. Buy It, Play it a couple of times, you will not regret it.

Andy Scott's metallic rhythm playing is not always obvious but there are certainly moments when it sounds like what you hope for
Many tracks are reminiscent of Suzi's debut 1973 album; that rocking rhythm section with added piano and occasional brass in the mix. Andy Scott's metallic rhythm playing is not always obvious but there are certainly moments when it sounds like what you hope for: a collision of prime era Quatro and Sweet. Not to mention Don Powell from Slade on drums. The choices of covers are fitting - Slow Down gets things off to a satisfying start. Suzi singing Elvis' Little Sister, in her customary way of not changing the gender, is ace! I Walk On Gilded Splinters, sung by Andy, has a tribal, glam-style beat and loads of atmosphere. It sounds like it could emerge out of the middles 8 section of No You Don't from Sweet's Sweet Fanny Adams album. The single, If Only, co-written by Dick Wagner of Alice Cooper connection, is infectious and has some retro hallmarks with descending bass and guitar lines. A couple of Quatro/Scott co-writes deal with subjects such as life on the road and are sufficient quality to sit among the classic songs covered. The only mis-step is the slow tempo of The Price Of Love. On my turntable I crank up the speed and Suzi's vocals go up - sounds just like her 70's prime. I thought Suzi;s last album, In The Spotlight was her best since 1980's Rock Hard. Likewise, I thought Andy's Sweet projects' New York Connection was a convincing re-activation of the Sweet sound. I'm glad to find that their collaboration (with Don too of course), lives up to both of these releases; surpassing them in some respects. Highly recommended.

bought mainly because of Andy Scott as he is still doing it (writing songs and still touring) and doing it well with The Sweet. But this has definitely surprised me
As previous reviewer, wasn't sure what to expect, bought mainly because of Andy Scott as he is still doing it (writing songs and still touring) and doing it well with The Sweet. But this has definitely surprised me, a fantastic CD. Even the covers such as The Price of Love, and Tobacco Road, they have put their own unique stamp on it. Their own material such as Long Way from Home is equally refreshing. As for the seemingly 'done thing' today in needing a pigeon hole to put groups or singers into; I can't - it has slight traces of their 70's past (though that is only recognisable if you were there and able to recognise it) but is as good as any new 2019 material from any good group. The other old cliche of something never being off the CD machine .. mine is .. from the CD machine to the car .. and back again
