Really bring character out of wood!
My friend who has been a carpenter for over 40 years recommended using linseed oil on all of my natural wood on my porch. I love the way it looks and how much it brought out the character of the wood.I let the wooden beams on my porch sit exposed to the elements for 2 years after I built, to give them an aged look, then on a hot summer day I went around and put linseed oil on them. The woood drank up the oil and I’m very satisfied with the finished look.
