very hot
Mother warms bed for 1.5 hours on 4 setting, turns it off and gets in. Able to keep the other side of the queen bed warm left on 5 all night. She keeps her apartment pretty warm though. Doubt we could wash it as the connection of cord to the pad is jammed. I don't want to risk ruining it to see if it will come apart. Controls relatively easy for 89 year old mother to see and use.

Nice and warm
I bought this same heated mattress pad six years ago, but it stopped getting real warm, so I bought this one six months ago. It has been working great. I put it on about 20 minutes before bedtime, but five minutes may be enough also. I think it keeps me much warmer than the heated blankets. I even warm up my bed in the summer and enjoy the warm heat before going to sleep.

A worthy alternative to the Sunbeam 6-zone wireless
OK, I get it. Some people claim they actually like a COLD bed or so I'm told, except that I'm also told that they end up stealing the blanket from the other person during the night. Go figure. My wife and I enjoy a warm bed, so about 4 years ago we bought a mattress warmer from a bricks and mortar store which failed not too much later. That caused me to research and we discovered Sunbeam's 6-zone mattress warmer featuring wireless remote controller which we loved and used every night at varying heat levels, of course. That system finally failed about one month ago which caused me to shop for a replacement. Sadly, that Sunbeam model has evidently been discontinued. So, in consideration of the fact that our overall experience with Sunbeam mattress warming technology was very satisfactory our only option was to go with the Sunbeam Premium Water Resistant Restful Quilted Electric Heated Mattress Pad King Size, 76" x 80". The verdict is in and we both fully endorse this design. Even though we believed the single wireless controller was ideal, we had to admit it was sometimes tricky and, frankly, questionably reliable. So, this current version does feature separate 'wired' controllers, although we no longer each have 3 zone control. I can honestly submit and my wife agrees that this version of the Sunbeam mattress warmer is 100% satisfactory. We like the reliability of the wired and convenience of individual controllers. We only have one month of experience with the new product; however, our confidence in the Sunbeam influence on the design technology is encouraging. Of course, the comfort of the construction is similarly equivalent to that of our previous Sunbeam product which is excellent in our opinions.

It added quality sleep time to me
In a nutshell, this is one of the best expenses I made this winter.I live in a modern, large building with central air, where I am able to boost the temperature in my own unit. However, I cannot control the temperature. If I leave the heat on, the room seamers to a boiling point. Hence, we need to turn off the heat at night. This pad made a difference in our lives and resolved my issue with the building.I found heat grade 3 to be the max, but grade 2 is usually enough. The pad is worth every penny!

ONE OF THE BEST PURCHASES OF MY LIFE!!!!!
This heated mattress pad has been a real quality-of-life changer for me! In the colder months I always get miserably cold in the evening, with the cold being especially bad at bedtime - my nose, hands, feet and calves - to the point where I will actually have trouble getting to sleep because I am so cold. (I've seen my doctor, but this has not been determined to be a medical issue.) Over the years I've tried all sorts of "remedies": multiple blankets, flannel sheets, heavy socks, socks with inserts that get heated in the microwave, turning the heat way up before bedtime to warm up the bedroom, having a space heater on very near my side of the bed (even bought one with a timer so it would shut off after a set period of time), and a thing called a Snuggle Safe, which is specifically marketed to be used to keep a dog's bed warm. (The Snuggle Safe is a disk that gets heated in the microwave for about 5 minutes and stays remarkably warm through the entire night. I would put it under the covers down at my feet and this thing worked very well. I even wrote to the company that makes them and suggested they market them for other uses.) However, I like to read in bed, and was never able to do so in the colder months because my hands would be too cold to have out of the covers to hold the book/Kindle/iPad. Yes, we did have a dual control electric blanket many, many years ago, but my husband, who did not get cold back then, always complained that me having my side on was making his side too warm, so the electric blanket was banished and never revisited. As we got older, my husband was no longer as warm all the time as he used to be, so I was able to get him to agree to try a dual control heated mattress pad. This has not only changed the quality of my life, but my husband loves it as well. (Many nights he's the one who will make sure that both sides of the mattress pad are on "pre-heat" before bedtime, and it's a slice of heaven to get into a toasty bed, rather than cold sheets!) So goodbye to all the other gadgets and space heater and extra socks and extra blankets (though I still wear one pair of socks and use one blanket and flannel sheets in the winter). And another great benefit is that I can read in bed again! Yup, by having my feet and calves warm, my hands warm up too! We first pre-heat, then each side adjusts to our desired settings, and, if we forget to turn the controls off when we get up in the morning, they automatically shut off.For some unknown reason, our first heated mattress pad (exact same make and model) decided to stop working after about 2 years. While it was still under warranty, I was in a panic over having to do without it for any length of time, so I ordered another one from Amazon (which actually cost a bit less than the first one), and we had it in 2 days (isn't Prime shipping the best?), Then I sent the one that stopped working back to Sunbeam, and not long after Sunbeam sent me a brand new replacement. Win-win because now we have a backup just in case one decides not to work (huge peace-of-mind factor)!Bottom line: I can't stress enough about how a heated mattress pad so dramatically changed the quality of my life for the better, and I highly recommend this to anyone who even gets a little cold at night.

Cozy Warm Bed - and Lots of Choices
I like how easy it was to put this on the bed and get started. The controls are easy to see and adjust, even in the dark. I love that you can adjust the temperature and the duration for each setting. I turn the heat on the highest setting about 5 - 10 minutes before getting into bed, and turn the temperature down to 2. I usually set it for 6 hours, sometimes 5 depending on when I have to get up. Hubby and I both have our heat set to 2, which is plenty warm - even on the coldest nights. Morning stiffness is negligible since we started using this. We have only had it for about 3 weeks, but so far, so good. We both love how much better, and more deeply we sleep with the heat from below. It’s glorious, and feels wonderful to crawl into a warm, cozy bed.

Comfort at your touch
Put the blanket in the washer right out of the package and through 3 gentle warm dryer cycles, pulling it out to rearrange between cycles to expose the damper spots as it is bulky and doesn't tumble that well. Fit it out on the bed and let it rest just to be sure dry all over. Cords are ample enough to set up any way you want and glad we got the quilted one. Just an extra layer of comfort, you never feel any cording, and the warmth is well dispersed with no hot spots. The only draw back is the controller has no memory for settings. That said, it only takes a moment to adjust your desired setting. I'd buy it again.

You will never go back to an unheated bed in winter!
This is our third heated mattress pad. The Sunbeam heated mattress pads last about 5 years with regular washing, so are fairly durable. The joy of climbing into a warm cozy bed in a nice cool room is fantastic! The controllers are pretty good: having one for each side of the bed is essential, they have a reasonable number of heating levels, and the timer feature is handy. However, the buttons are loud and make an annoying clicking noise. Its a minor issue, but kind of ruins the heavenly zen of the heated mattress experience. Our previous Sunbeam heated mattress pad controllers had soft touch silent buttons which was nicer for a bedroom.
