Crankbrothers Multi Tool M 10 Gold

After having the set of hex keys in my seat bag accumulate some surface rust after getting wet, I decided it was finally time to get a real multi-tool. I wanted something small and compact that offered some versatility, and this multi-tool fit the bill perfectly. I carry separate tire levers and a chain tool, so I didn't want any extra fluff on my multi-tool because those just make it bulky and more difficult to use, and this tool fits perfectly in my Medium Topeak Aero Wedge Seat Pack even with my extra tube, chain tool, master links, and flat repair kit (CO2, tire levers, patch kit). The length of each tool is appropriate and it exhibits the perfect balance between length and compact size. I don't have any bolts on my bike where I can't use this tool due to space constraints. The craftsmanship of the tool is excellent, and the metal is extremely strong. I have not had any rounding of the heads and even after extensive use, the tool still looks like brand new. The all-metal finish is very attractive and the roughness on the outside provides excellent grip even with sweaty hands. This product really looks and feels like it was made to last forever and is much nicer than some of the similar offerings from competitor brands. Every tool on here is useful and used with sufficient frequency to justify its inclusion, and I am never caught on a long ride without it. I think the ultimate selling points are its (1) competitive price, (2) all metal body, (3) compact size, and (4) no unnecessary tools that makes this 10-function multi-tool second to none. Since the product description isn't entirely complete, here is the complete specs: 7 hex keys (2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm) and 3 screw drivers (Phillips, flat head, and Torx T25). The listing states it is 124g, but my +/- 1 gram scale shows it to be 153g. **UPDATE 12-7-15** After owning this multitool for a couple of years, all of my previous comments remain true. However, I have noticed one issue with this multitool. The bolts holding all of the tools together rattled loose twice, presumably from the road vibrations while in my handlebar bag. I put some Loctite Threadlocker Red 271 on the threads before reassembling the second time, and have not had any issues since. Cheers!

This is a very versatile multi-tool for any roadside repairs with most bikes. It's a good size and nice and sturdy - the hinges haven't come loose on me, nor has anything bent or been damaged from use. It isn't exactly feather-light, but it's also not overly heavy.

Yes, this weighs about an ounce more (mine is 154 grams) than listed on the packaging and advertised claims, but then I weigh far more than I should, so I'll work on shaving grams there first. For the xenophobic, it is manufactured in Taiwan, which is likely where your bike was made. The fit of the tools in my bikes' (Jones 29+, ICE trike, Santa Cruz) hardware is absolutely superb; I much prefer it over the two Park multi-tools I own, though I do wish the hex wrenches had ball-ends. Wrenches I have used thus far have a very positive grip; I don't yet know about the torx. That there is no knife blade, as one reviewer bemoans, is, for me, a plus, as I also carry a Leatherman multitool with blades and additional bits; great setup for multi-day rides, or working as a sweep. I have bought several of these, primarily as gifts for serious mountain bikers in my area, Monterey Bay, California. Feedback from them thus far has been overwhelmingly positive. The tool holds up great to the sometimes salty, often sandy, and occasionally foggy conditions we ride in. I predict it would do fine in other environments. In short, though heavier than claimed, it has been, for my uses, a well-engineered, well-manufactured tool that I don't ride without.

Just received and added to EDC pack that also features a classic Leatherman. Pack is used around town, on bike rides and on fitness trail. PROS: Compact, lightweight and functional. Tested the grip by using the #2 Phillips driver and found it acceptable. Opens and closes readily. CONS: the finished build quality on the smaller HEX Keys is imprecise (see photos) and that COULD be troublesome in a high torque or precision situation. Thus a 4⭐️ review. VERDICT: Good value for the money as a multifunctional emergency tool. I don’t recommend as a heavy duty and everyday use type of tool. Hopefully this review is useful/helpful. ☮️

I Bought this tool as a gift, and asked it to be delivered directly to the person it was for. First I was concerned about the seller saying they needed 4-5 days extra for processing, but at the end, they delivered the product almost a week sooner than expected. The tool is excellent as I've had absolutely no complains about it and it has all the necessary keys for basic bike maintenance and tune-up. My girlfriend was able to complete her preassembled bike and made brake tune-up in about two hours with my remote help (and this was her first time as a bike mechanic!). The tool's design is very clean and is easy to handle, it allows for very good torque even from small hands. I would recommend this tool for anyone with beginner to intermediate skills in bike mechanics, or if you prefer to have(carry) separated tools like a chain cutter, tire levers, etc. For beginners it's excellent since it doesn't have "too much".

I have several bikes and have several multi-tools. I Have a super lightweight compact Topeak for my road bike which I use for emergencies or quick on road adjustments. But I have to say that this Crank Brothers tool is very solid. It has the right about of length and leverage to tighten, very well made, and relatively light. I carry this mountain biking and also was part of the commuter setup. It had also been handy for general use and maintenance. I went with the gold. It just looks cool too.

This is a great stand alone multi-tool. I consider it almost as essential as water. I have been carrying and using this tool in my hydration backpack mountain biking for several months now. I rarely leave the door to ride without this. It is light, strong, simple and has everything I need on a multi-tool except a chain break and spoke wrench, which I prefer to have as a separate tools rather than an integrated tool. I have not found a single screw that I could not handle with this tool on the trail, from the 8mm hex that fits the non-drive side of most cranks to minor adjustment of brake and shifter location on the handlebars. Simple and strong, no BS.

This is a very well though out bit of kit , good qualiy of manufacture , and very practical and easy to pack on every bike trip . Each individual tool has a good finish to the ends , therfore the fit in the fasteners is good , ( no rounded off fixings ) . Each tool is of a sensible length making undoing of tight / stubborn fasteners easy .

The tools are longer than many other multi tools. Good for accessing the high/low grub screws of Shimano FD.

TBF Amazon should pay me for this 😂. Anyway. You can't go wrong with this. The different tools are self explaining the key point is this is pocket sized and well made. It's sturdy and the shape and size makes it properly 'useful. There are all the tools you need on it and it fits in the cycle shirt pocket back without being bulky. Perfect in the saddle bag etc. Good at the discounted price point.
