Great laptop, Bad customer service
I purchased this laptop almost two years ago and am happy with my purchase. The only thing I would change is to get the 15.6" version since 17.3" is large for commuting daily in college. The reason I purchased this laptop was for college and light gaming. This laptop installed Solidworks in about five minutes (yay ssd) and ran it perfectly. All my other programs and assignments were easily ran/completed without any trouble.I regularly played league of legends without any problems as well as other video games. This laptop has a pretty great battery life lasting many hours while not doing power intensive tasks such as gaming or Solidworks. As good as the battery life is, this laptop looks even better. Some people have complained that it only comes with a 256 GB SSD but that is all you would need for normal needs. I have been using this for school for two years running Solidworks and playing a few different games. I still have 130 GB of free space. If you are running a lot of large programs or downloading many seasons of a TV show in HD you may have trouble with storage. Also some people have complained about some parts of the laptop not functioning. I have not experienced these issues. Computers in general will experience some kind of technical problems eventually. The best thing you can do is to try reinstalling whatever component that is having trouble. You can find the latest drivers for your product on the Lenovo website and it is a good idea to keep them up to date. With all this being said this is my second Lenovo laptop and I have been satisfied with both laptops. I can say for sure that Lenovo's customer service is horrible. I usually google and read on forums or watch YouTube videos to solve my tech problems though.

Horrible Customer Service
I have never in my life had so many issues with a laptop. I have had this laptop sent 4 times for service and the first 3 times they did not fix the issues. Also their support services is in the philippines and if you need to contact a service person they don't have a way to contact anyone in the US except via email. The philppines tech support DON'T GET ACCESS TO THAT. Finally on the last time when I sent it in the customer services rep doesn't know where my laptop is. LENOVO has LOST MY LAPTOP. I HAVE CALLED multiple times to no avail. The issue was just with the screen going in and out and also showing static lines.I WILL NEVER BUY anything from LENOVO...EVER!!!!!!!

Extremely satisfied
Beginning the third week of use. Absolutely the fastest, quietest, most user friendly laptop I've ever had. Better than what I expected, and exactly or better than advertised. Just starting out gaming so I won't comment on it's capabilities for that. Lenovo did a great job putting these together.Random thoughts:This does not have a disk drive but comes with a portable.Absolutely the best sound I've ever heard from any laptop.Back red-lit LED keyboard is spot on and you can turn it on low, high, or turn it off.The huge 17.3" touchscreen is extremely precise. I really wish you could open it all the way up and around the bottom for use like a tablet. Maybe the next one?The surface is a rubber finish and really grabs finger prints/palm prints. You can turn off the touch pad, but when it comes out of sleep, or is restarted, it's back on. There's no place within windows 8.1 that I have found, or anyone else on the web had found to keep it turned off or even keep it turned off if a cordless mouse is attached like the option in windows 10 / Acer R11.All in all, I'd purchase it again in a heartbeat.

It's no good
I purchased this a couple of years ago. There was one issue with the screen flickering. Sent it in, still within warranty and it was repaired. Great!! About 6 months later, the computer won't turn on. Lights come on the keyboard, the fan turns on but nothing else. Laptop of this caliber should be more reliable and it appears I am not the only one with this problem. Many people have noticed similar issues. One star for everything because nothing works. Stay away....

Avoid at all cost!! Worst laptop ever.
Bought Y70 a few years back ... first year it was fine and right after the warranty expired the screen started to flicker ... spent countless hours online trying to find a fix but nothing worked. To this day it flickers ... even while typing this review. Also, every once in awhile, I check the Lenovo website to see if the problem was ever resolved and sadly it hasn't.
