Moving the Chains: An Operational Solution for Embracing Complexity in the Digital Age Paperback – June 20, 2019

In this excellent book, Dr. Lepore builds on the foundations of the Theory of Constraints (Goldratt) and the Theory of Profound Knowledge (Deming) to develop new insights about improving organizational structures, and he describes how to actually accomplish this. To fully appreciate these concepts, one should be familiar with the underlying foundations (TOC and TPK) and have an appreciation for the digital possibilities that have emerged over the past few years. The 21st century has been widely touted as the "Age of Systems". In my opinion it's not a matter if, but when these concepts gain mainstream acceptance. Dr. Lepore is making very valuable contributions towards system-based management!

Perhaps the most influential book I have read in the digital transformation space that covers how to correctly leverage technology to achieve operational excellence. There are authors like Deming, Ohno, & Goldratt that have made significant contributions to society in this space. I believe Lepore will be considered in that same category soon. As a supply chain technologist and entrepreneur, this book provides the most elegantly thought out methodologies that are simple to implement and execute on. In short, it has made me reevaluate my own foundations in organization design, digital transformation, and operations management and shift my approach to a new reference frame.
