Rocks
Why did I buy rocks? Why am I reviewing rocks? Maybe I've gotten old... We bought these to paint and place randomly around forest preserves. Why are we going to forest preserves? Covid - nothing else safe to do. So yea, never thought I would buy rocks, never thought I would paint rocks and 100 billion percent never thought I would place rocks that I bought off Amazon around a forest preserve.

Kiddos love them!
I am a mental health therapist and my kiddos love to paint rocks and hide them for others in the city to find. Everyone then posts their fun finds to Facebook. These rocks are perfect for painting. They’re smooth enough to paint a lovely portrait of a kiddo’s dog-in-heaven yet different enough to be unique. They’re a good value too. Sure, I know you can get rocks for free but these are substantial, proportioned rocks and my kiddos love them!

some are irregular shapes and we are havind problems getting paint to stick
Overall they are smooth but there were many irregular shapes and dents. I think because they are tumbled to get smooth we have been having issues with paint adhering to them. We are trying to work with them as they are.I had to change my review. We can not get the paint to adhere to them, you can scrape it off with your finger nail. We have tried using Gesso to prime first but it is not working. We use acrylic paints.

Not as described.
Disappointed. Most have giant chunks broken out, or cracks. Only about 1/3 have two clear sides. 1/3 have one mostly good side. The rest are unusable. There were only rwo flat sones, one round, one oval. The predominant shape seems to be wide and raised thicker on one end and flatter and skinnier on the other like a hand with all of your fingers together with your thumb touching them. The texture is nice and smooth though, where they aren't chipped or cracked.

Good art project for bored children!
These were so fun to work with. My kids had a great time painting them for our rock garden! They are smooth and have a very large surface to color on. Make sure you buy acrylic markers for rock painting.

They came in 3 different mesh bags in the box. Smooth. Nice sizes. They are heavy. Rinsed off because, like normal, they are dusty. Covered nicely with white primer. We use them for kindness rocks. They are good rocks.

Great size and quality. Shame paint wouldn’t stick.
Paint wouldn’t stick to the rocks. Beaded up like the rocks had been treated with something. I had to put a layer of modge podge to get it to stick which didn’t help with the paint staying on the rocks for durability.

Large size, not flat, no light color all black, received 20
The rocks are all 4 inches or larger, they are not flat very bumpy all over and weird shapes. The image they show is also very deceptive, I received all black stones, no lighter colors at all so they all require priming - be prepared for this extra cost if you were hoping to use lighter colors.I also received less than the number promised, I think they must weigh them instead of count them as my bags were already opened and the rocks were just rumbling around in the open box.Overall I do not recommend this purchase, it does not meet the description as advertised.

Lovely
I was pleasantly surprised with this. I’m giving grade schoolers a rock painting class and the weather is still too miserable to go out hunting for our own rocks. I took a chance with these and received really stunning rocks all the perfect shape and texture for rock painting. Can’t wait to have fun with the kids!

Massive and I wouldn’t say they are flat for the majority. Only a few. None of them are 2”, most all closer to 4”
