Maximum Muscle, Minimum Fat: The Secret Science Behind Physical Transformation

Read Warrior Diet First
For those who've read the Warrior Diet and:(i) want to learn more, and in the case of this book a LOT more, about the science behind cycling between periods of over eating and then undereating; and (ii) want to learn how to "tweak" the program set forth in the Warrior Diet to enhance muscle building; then this book is for you.If you're new to Ori's writings/theories on eating, then it will be a difficult read and you may come away from it unclear as to what exactly to do.It's well written and well researched, but it is technical.

UNBELIEVABLE SCIENCE BODYBUILDING
Well it's very detailed and scientifically written. It's a lot to follow and complex. But it's not a title that you get everything on 1st pass. If you're detailed and patient the book is worth your effort and time. The complexity takes time and willingness to learn. Definitely not one that's the path of least resistance. If you are serious about making yourself better and smarter. It takes dedication and effort. SACRIFICE COMES TO MIND. Would recommend this title and get it again. Expect to spend time learning the process. Good luck and stay safe. Wishing you good health and luck. To another day in paradise. Will see you in the next review.

Big book in a small package
I was expecting something very simple. An easy how-to.Nope.What I got was an in-depth analysis into the world of hormones. I'm pretty sure everything Ori talks about in here is talked about in laymen in his book The Warrior Diet. But me being a huge nerd, I found this stuff. fascinating. Don't be fooled by its small size, it's a very tough read. I still haven't finished it yet, but I am learning a lot.

Good if you want the "whys" of IF...
A decent book on fitness and fat loss. My only gripe is that it covers much of the same territory as his Warrior Diet book. However, if you want to know why intermittent fasting is beneficial, both for fat loss and health, this is the book for you.

Good book
If you're all about the science aspect of it then you'll love this book. If you're a regular schmoe like me you'll just skim through a lot of repetition to come away with HIIT and starve myself for most of the day.

Works for m
Fascinating. I've been training for years, and after a lot f trial and error, found myself instictively doing this diet. It's great to see it detailed and endorsed like this. Thanks Ori.

Technical book, very good for persons with science background.
I'm a biology major and this book was very useful in helping me to get down to the hormone level of how nutrition works! I would not recommend for a not science person though, they wouldn't appreciate the full value of what he's explained. With this new knowledge from this book, I dropped 9 lbs of FAT in 9 weeks and put on 2 lbs of muscle!

For Medical Personnel Only
This book is written to stimulate the intellectuals that need their minds massaged with science terminology. This is not an easy read, nor would I recommend it to those that are seeking weight loss material. Get your medical dictionary out, wipe off the dust. Time to go back to school. For those who have no interest in going back to med school, pass on this publication. It is not easy to understand. It appears that the author sets out to impress those in the medical fields. For most readers, it is dry. You will fight to keep your eyes open and have a harder time convincing yourself to continue on with this read. This book is very technical in nature. Unless you are a physician or a biologist, you might want to pass on this book. It makes me wonder what is the target audience the author was trying to reach. For those in the medical field, it will impress. For the lay person, it falls short of being effective.

A Must For Muscle
Two years ago I set out to drop two stone in weight and tighten up some old muscles by going to the gym for regular cardiovascular and weight workouts. I soon found out that it was going to take more than sweat and tears to get rid of the excess weight I'd gained after spending 2 years sat around recovering from an injury.I bought this book along with another on nutrition after a good friend recommended them.I knew how to train and gain muscle as any serious sportsman should but have to admit I'd never thought much about the scientific reasons for my muscle gains or why I'd gained 12.7kg of lard. This book gives a fascinating insight to doing exactly what it says on the cover.I must admit its not the easiest book to read, neither is it your average slimmers bible. This is a book for those who are deadly serious about transforming their bodies into a lean mean fat burning machine.A must have for any athlete.

Very technical read, not enough practical applications
I did enjoy reading this book, although at times I wished the author had skipped some of the very in depth explanations around hormonal reasons behind weight loss and muscle gain. It does become at times a very dense reading, where unless a medicine student or professional, it can be easy getting lost or confused.Sadly there are no real examples of how to apply the science to the every day life of an athlete. Yes the author talks (briefly and with little detail) about type of workouts to do during under eating phases, yet it is not detailed enough. Same when it comes to the diet itself. For all the detailed explanations on insulin-resistance and insulin-sensitivity, there is not one example of how to go about creating an effective diet plan for an athlete, so the reader is left to their own devices to come up with practical applications of the theory explained on the book.Last point, at all times the author keeps repeating that the theory described in the book on combining phases of under eating with strength exercises "may" result in fat loss and muscle gain. For a book that has numerous pages of what it looks like medical and scientific references, and claims to develop a revolutionary new way of approaching body transformation, it all seems that in the end the author does not want to assume full responsibility of what he seems to claim. In summary, I have enjoyed reading the book, yet it lacks some fundamental practicalities most readers would have appreciated.

Extremely informative book about how the body and its hormones work, some people may disagree with the man but he backs his statements up well, this book is really up there with the top books i've read on nutrition and physiology, although i wouldnt recommend it to a beginner
