Best investment for drilling thick metal
This did the trick for drilling and saving time. Using cutting oil, it worked great.

Slugger bits
We use these in the elevator trade to drill holes in elevator guide rails. 9/16 and 11/16. This is a good source, good price with prompt shipping

Very impressive cutting tool
I used this hole cutter to drill (4) 1 1/4 cross holes in an eight inch diameter sch.80 pipe and the tool worked beautifully. Fast cutting with minimal pressure required and relatively good surface finish. The center ejector spring also work really well and I never had to stop to remove the material plug from the cutter. Having worked in the cutting tool industry for 33 years I can state with confidence that this is a great tool, especially considering the relative low cost for a carbide tool of this quality.

Works great. No wobble, Sharp and perfect hole
I needed to drill a hole through plate steel for a "box bolt". This was great. Perfect hole, sharp, And went through the metal without any wobble or problems.A little expensive, but I guess that is what you pay for quality.

The BEST !!!!
I had to cut through I beams on a special project I was working on.. Knowing it was going to "EAT UP" regular "Bi-Metal" hole saws, I decided to try a "Champion" hole saw and purchased it here on Amazon.... Well,.. I WAS AMAZED !!!!!!!!! It DID cut through like butter... Cleanly too ! The metal shavings were flying off the bit... I started on one side, and before i got completely through, finished on the other side... Now, this I beam was about a 1/2" thick and after 4 holes, I looked at the Champion bit closely... I couldn't even see any scratches on it !! It was like I NEVER used it !!!I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED by the Quality of these bits and intend on buying many more sizes ! If you need to cut through heavy gauge steel, do yourself a favor... buy this ! You will be amazed too !

Superb
Great for stainless steel

Thumbs up!
I had to drill some holes for a half inch bolt and wasn't looking forward to it. Anyone who has drilled a half inch hole in steel knows what a wrist breaking experience it is, that is unless you have a big drill, which I don't. I pre-drilled a 1/4" hole, then used this with cutting lube, no problems!

Great for doors!
After years of dealing with the normal box store sheet metal hole saws (even the so called carbide toothed ones) I finally sprung for a pair of these in 1" and 2 1/8" for new lock preps.Sheet metal saws have a tendency to go out of round, and they don't cut a particularly clean hole even when new. If you knock one of these out of round you're doing something very, very wrong.Only issue I have with these is the teeth are pretty grabby once they're about to break through sheet metal. They'll spin your drill on you in a heartbeat if you're not careful. Technique I've used to counter that is to use higher speed and much lower pressure just before it breaks through. These are super sharp and are great for fine woods or veneers where you don't want to risk delaminating a strip of grain. Faster cutting than a Forstner bit but just as clean.Even at a 3 figure price tag I don't see myself ever going back to sheet metal saws. These are just awesome.

This thing puts in work
I bought this bit for a customer specific job that needed 36 holes drilled in 1/4 plate. Lets just say that I would have had to spend a lot more money on drill bits, and spend a few more hours of drill time if it wasn't for this tool.Be sure to drill vertically down or else you may get a 1/4 slug popping out at 20km/h across the shop. (Ask me how I know).Very high quality, replaceable pilot drill, durable carbide teeth. This is a lifetime tool.Only complaint is the price point, but for the time it saved me it was worth it. I will be buying more sizes of these in the future for sure.
