Worked
Completely manged the old one trying to get my tumbler out. Lol the new one worked perfectly. I removed and reused my old key and immobilizer ring in order to avoid having to get it reprogrammed. I used this on my 2007 audi a3

No help
Key does not come programmed. You will have to have a dealer or locksmith program it for you. Cost is about 200 more. This only comes with 1 key so you will need 2 to program it. Will have to make another key. Contacted seller with my problem and his reply was it needs to be installed by a professional. help each other. Bottom line ignition will need to be reprogrammed by a shop. Its not plug and play.Regards.

Works perfectly for 2008 VW GTI... IF YOU DON'T BREAK THE IMMOBILIZER!
I had the infamous key stuck in the ignition problem in my GTI. My eventual solution was to remove the entire component (steering wheel lock housing with cylinder and key inside it), and use a drill to remove the key and cylinder with the immobilizer attached from the original one. I installed this one, but did not hook up the new immobilizer, instead leaving the old one attached to the lead and electrical taped my extra original key inside it. I then mounted it under the dash. The result of this is that the car will start with either the new key packaged with this item, or with my old key with the remote. This doesn't compromise the security of the vehicle as badly as many of the other options, and alleviates the need to spend $800-1200 on reprogramming and new keys at the dealership.

Worked perfectly in my 2013 Jetta! I installed myself.

Proceed with caution....
First, it's not plug and play. You need to keep your transponder. Thats what they told me. I have yet to get my car running though. I'm probably going to have to have the key programmed. Easy install though.

Perfect!
My 2012 vw jetta had the dreaded licked up ignition. Ordered this part at like 4pm got it by 12 next day. Saved me from trying to figure out a ride on monday. Thanks again!

Comes Preassembled—of parts that don’t work.
It doesn’t come programmed. Don’t listen to the seller. The immobilizer doesn’t match and will kill the engine whether using the key provided or if you try to replace the immobilizer with your own. What’s better—I tried pulling the key housing out and the lock will stay stuck in place so that you can’t put your own back in. Huge waste of money and a couple days worth of after work effort.
