A little goes a long way. I squirt an amount about the size of a milk bottle cap into my hands and spread it around, then smooth it onto one side of my damp hair, then repeat on the other side.It defines my curls (my hair is somewhere between type 3b and 3c, closer to 3c) and gives a solid hold on the outer strands (but no crunchy feeling) while leaving the inner strands soft and movable.Unfortunately, the smell when I first apply it is extremely sickly sweet (it smells like milk vomit, although my fiance likes the smell and thinks I'm being dramatic). It's not a big enough issue to stop me buying it though, as once my hair dries off the scent fades and it just smells like shea butter, which is fine.

I follow the curly girl method and have permed hair. This product is amazing. It has NO baddies. I cowash my hair and add just this to damp hair and diffuse or airdry it leaves a crunchy cast which i scrunch out with my hands! It produces the best defined curls ever with no frizz and my hair has a lovely gloss to it. Believe me ive tried any amount of mousses gels lotions an potions but nothing compares to this! My only wish is that they sold bigger bottles 🙂

Wonderful stuff for curly hair, i add a small amount on clean wet hair, let it air dry and then scrunch hair when dry to get rid of crispy feeling , left with super soft curls, no frizz, dont normally have to add any more between washes, just dampen curls and leave to dry. No other products needed

Nothing like the leave in conditioner, it made my hair really dry

Love it! My only regret is, that I've only just discovered this lotion.
