Love it!
Added to light pink paint for my baby’s nursery & it is sheer enough so it just sparkles in the right lighting. Just the extra special touch it needed.

Way better than I could have imagined!
The media could not be loaded. This glitter works wonders! I added one full bag to one quart of paint as instructed and my wall is a little bigger than 10x10. It adds way more sparkle than I thought it would and I’m very pleased with the way it turned out. Don’t skip the step about polishing/buffing the paint with buffing pads. That’s what brings out the shine! My last picture shows the wall half way polished so you can see the difference. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

How I did it
So, I wish there were maybe some more guidance on Hemway's website on picking the right glitter, but it's kind of hard to photograph, so I'll tell you what I did and how it ended up and what I'd do differently.1. I didn't mix it with paint, I mixed it with glaze. I originally was going to use Rustoleum glitter glaze on top of a colored paint, and the paint I already bought had primer in it. I'm not sure it'd show up if I didn't use the glaze.2. I got the ultra fine mother of pearl to go over a mid-tone pink paint. It looks nice, but it's definitely not dramatic. If there's not light shining directly on the wall, you do not notice the glitter at all. It also tends to show up more green than I'd have preferred. If I had loads of time and money, I'd have done some samples with different glitter colors and sizes and probably used a larger size or I'd have matched the paint color with the glitter color, or maybe have gone with the silver, IDK. If you can, I'd maybe get a few different packs and test them out on a board with the color you want and check it out under the light of the room you're painting.3. I would use more glitter than recommended. I ended up having to do quite a few coats to get a decent coverage of glitter. In my second can of glaze, I added more glitter than the directions recommended and I was much happier.4. Don't forget to mix well! If you think it's mixed, give it a few more stirs.5. I used a small roller and rolled it in V-patterns, blending it in small sections. This got much better results than when my husband tried to roll silver Rustoleum glitter glaze in an up and down pattern (total disaster; also wasn't mixed well enough). All in all, I'm fine with the results, it's a good product, but it would be nice if the company could show some realistic photos of what their glitter looks like against different colors or with a glaze vs in a paint or just offer more design guidance. The other customer photos are great, but I think it caused me to be a bit more subtle than was really my goal since it's hard to judge when there's not a standard baseline.

Loving my glitter walls
The media could not be loaded. For a gallon of black paint, we use three bags. Very happy with the result.

6 bags for 1 glitter wall
I have done 6 coats of on 1 wall and all it looks is dirty. I bought 2 bags and still can barely see the sparkles.

Beautiful, Easy to Use, Microfine is the way to go!
The media could not be loaded. This was so easy to use. I got the lavender microfine and it was beautiful! I eyeballed the amount of glitter completely and i used about half of it to paint a small bookshelf and a desk. It didn’t need to be buffed to show how beautiful and shimmery it was, which I was worried about. I actually mixed it into Beyond Paint, which worried me since that paint is thick like pudding. But the glitter did an amazing job. I was so happy about the finished products that I ended up disappointed that I don’t have any other projects to do.I attached a video, the paint I use is textured but I don’t think the microfine glitter would affect the texture of a smooth paint much at all! (Also excuse the stuff on the bookshelf I was already putting books on it before remembering to take a video.)

The more sensible option vs premium formulation as a glitter additive when using opaque paint
I usually prefer the premium ultra sparkle formulation but this was on sale at a good price so I thought I would give it a go.This is a very good product. Not a much sparkle power as the premium ultra sparkle (which is cosmetic grade and designed to excel in more transparent/translucent bases). Since this designed as a paint additive and paint is usually more opaque, the way to make this glitter stand out in your application is to buff the finished surface after the paint has dried, which removes the cloudy ultra thin layer of paint from the uppermost glitter flakes and brings the reflective surface of the flakes to a nice shine. No the glitter hasn't flaked off after doing this. Yes it definately makes the glitter stand out better and gives a much more finished glittery look.I used this in paint for some home dec items and not to paint a wall. I just added what I thought would be adequate for the amount of paint I mixed up so I can't give precise measurements. All in all I'm happy with the results. Since I tend to use glitter in higher end creations and more transparent/translucent mediums I personally will continue to purchase the premium glitters (more expensive but worth it!), but will happily purchase this preparation again if my project calls for use in opaque paint- where the look of the premium paint is decreased by the opacity of the medium.

Decorating a girls bedroom...
The media could not be loaded. We used it for decorating an 8 year olds bedroom. For reference we used: Dulux Endurance mix up in shade Nutmeg Cluster 6 (a soft pale pink). We gave one coat of paint without glitter and mixed the glitter in for the second coat. We had approximately 3 litres left when mixing the glitter in and used two coloured glitters - Champagne and Gold. (The recommended amount is 1.5 litres per packet).I was a bit worried after mixing in the glitter that it wouldn’t show up as I disappeared in the mixture but, using a roller to apply and doing it generously paid off, ensure your roller is fully loaded with paint as when you use the roller dry you get less glitter. We haven’t buffed down the glitter at all as it wasn’t needed but you may need to when using less?Overall I am absolutely over the moon with the finished look.

Remember to buff for extra sparkle
The media could not be loaded. This is the third time I have use this glitter to make feature walls. It turns out really well but you must be prepared to put the effort in to make it sparkle. I did 2 coats of paint with the glitter in. I used it in a 5l tin. At first it didn't turn out as well as my previous times however I then used the back of a minky scrubber to rub a cross the paint to reveal the most glittery wall. Be sure to rub the whole wall gently, it really does make a difference and reveals so much more of this glitter.

Defiantly works best with a brush application not roller
I don’t normally write reviews on Amazon but had to for this!! I normally use the valspar paint glitter but thought I’d give this ago as there were a lot more colour options and you could also get the chunky version I used the holographic rose gold shade but the photo doesn’t do it justice, mixed in with the paint really well, after applying the second coat it was really bright and sparkly but I could see a lot of the glitters were a bit muted instead of using there buffing pads I used a new washing up sponge which I have done with all other paint filters on wall and just gave it a run over in circular motions to bring out the sparkle even more!! I had actually mixed in the rust oleum glitter into my paint before this one but was really disappointed didn’t shine without the flash on my phone being on nor event the normal bedroom light or sunlight but this one shines in all lights even just the tv light in the dar, 1000% recommend and will be trying the other shades out, one of the best glitter additives I have used alone with the valspar ones!! Only recommendation is only apply this with a brush not a roller, I did my first coats without any glitter and added that in for the final coat did one wall with the roller and it was patchy back over with a brush and just a brush on the other wall and it works perfectly

Spark-a-lee
Used a clear over coat type lacquer before and found it to be so subtle you could barely see the glitter and it wasn't cheap. So thought I'd give this a go. The instructions say to use 100g per litre, so that's a full pack per litre of paint. If you did that, in my opinion it would be a case of "would you like some paint with that glitter?" 😳 I used 25g in a litre and you can see the results in pics. I actually found even that a bit much to be honest.I found that using a short pile roller to put a thin coat on and then sort of crosshatching with a 2inch paint brush allowed me to move the glitter around some so it didn't clump in patches. I then waited for it to dry completely and then went over the surface with a plastic soft scourer which uncovered more glitter in the areas where I thought it looked a bit sparse.Bit of a faff but worth the effort if you want it to look half way decent.I'm happy enough with the result, the only thing I would say is that if you don't like the effect and want it gone, you are going to need to somehow remove it, maybe a sander would work, or as you can see in the closer up pic, the glitter under the paint makes for a pretty lumpy finish

Works well in masonry paint
The media could not be loaded. Totally love this and I’m back to buy another. Put this whole pack in 2l black masonry paint from wilko. We wanted to hide a horrible uneven brick wall and this was the effect! I’m in love! It’s just enough to give a lovely effect at night
