De Blob 2 Wii

Recently i recieved my monthly official nintendo magazine and i was looking for new games to try out, at the back of the magazine there was a list of the top 20 games you must own for the wii and De Blob was #15, this intrigued me into purchasing De Blob and a number of over games. Overall, i am extremely pleased with my purchase as De Blob proves itself to be a worthy, addictive and downright original experience for anyone owning the wii. the gameplay is highly addictive and original and sees you going through a vast number of enormous levels trying to bring colour back to chroma city, which has fallen victim to the mischeivous and malevolent INKT, an organisation that despises rightousness and colour among all things. the visuals are also a treat with bright and vibrant colours that will definately catch your eye, especially for kids, the detail put into the levels is amazing and very cartoony, bringing a sense of fun to the atmosphere while you play. the length of the game is considerably long compared to most games now-a-days which seem to only care about the presentation instead of the depth of the game, with its variety of modes, De Blob can appeal to both the single players and the multi players, there is also a free paint mode which lets you replay the levels you have completed in story mode but without the time limit. my conclusion to the review is that De Blob is an outstanding masterpeice of video game art and if it isnt in your collection, then make sure it is asap, 8.5/10

Even though it is sold as new the game has clearly been resealed, it shows many wear marks inside the plastic wrap and dirty spots: that would be impossible if the game had never been opened. Also the game had no protection whatsoever inside the package; to think I paid the shipping costs twice for two items, even though they were sent in a single package, and still there's no protection. Nonostante sia venduto come nuovo e sigillato, il gioco è sato usato e risigillato, mostra numerosi segni d'usura e punti sporchi SOTTO la plastica protettiva: ciò sarebbe impossibile se il gioco non fosse mai stato aperto. Inoltre il gioco non aveva alcuna protezione all'interno del pacchetto; e pensare che ho pagato due volte i costi di spedizione per due oggetti che in realtà sono stati spediti in un solo pacco, e nonostante ciò non c'era nessuna protezione.

I really enjoyed this game. It's quite unlike a lot of other games out there, and right off the bat you feel immersed in this odd fantasy world of colour and music. The characters are rounded enough that you can actually sympathize with their plight and, in turn, feel compelled to save them. That being said, the concepts are fun. Completing various missions, freeing citizens, fighting the enemy or just painting the town in all manner of colours. The skill curve is fair (though the last boss is a bit of a beast) and, for the most part, the camera and control system works well. It has its issues, mostly in speed and wall-jumping. But thankfully the z-targeting often helps get you out of messy situations. Level length is questionable, though. Each level can take an average of 30-40 minutes and there are no mid-save points, so if you lose all your lives its a complete start over. When a level is so long, that can make for a bit of frustration. My biggest gripe would be as I got to the final level. I'd worked my way up to the last boss, and had almost beat him...and I managed to jump off the stage. There is no way to get back into the arena if you fall off. Even if you do manage to get back up to the arena door, you can't re-open it. You end up having to forfeit. Still, the game's charm manages to keep my opinion of it high. Look forward to playing the next one!

If you too are tired of every new critically acclaimed game being a first person shooter where graphics seem to be more important than fun and the story of the game gets so complex that completing it ends up becoming another chore rather than giving you a break... then buy this! The concept is really simple: paint your way through the city to reclaim it from the power of the monochrome INKT Corporation. As you progress, more obstacles will get in your way but the way to get rid of them is always pretty much the same: slam into them. The soundtrack that is created as you paint the town in different colours is great and very neatly done, although the tunes aren't very catchy so you won't find yourself whistling to them after switching the console off. I agree with the other reviewers who have mentioned the controls not being ideal, sometimes de Blob just won't jump when you want it to; it's not as bad as it sounds, it's just something that could be slightly better. The game can also get a little repetitive after a while, but that's not necessarily a bad thing: classics such as Pac-Man or Tetris are extremely repetitive and yet we still enjoy playing them today. Besides, de Blob has enough variations to keep you going with its humorous cut-scenes and loading-time comics, free paint mode (too boring for me, might appeal to children), multiplayer mode, and extra missions. This last feature is something I don't think is mentioned in the other customer reviews. When you complete a stage in the story mode, depending on your final number of points, you can be awarded a bronze, silver or gold medal. The silver medal unlocks one extra mission for that stage while the gold medal unlocks two. These extra missions are much shorter and usually take place on a small part of that stage. Completing them unlocks some videos and photos that are viewable in the gallery. The lack of an in-game save feature mentioned in some other reviews can be an issue in the later stages that can take over an hour to complete and can prevent you from playing if you know you may not have the time to finish the stage. The extra missions allow you to fill in those shorter free time periods by giving you something just as much fun but not as long. Overall, a fun game totally worth its low price tag, although it probably won't appeal to the hardcore gamer.
