Soil stretcher
I use this as an additive to my potting soil. I mix potting soil, coconut coir, and Soil Moist. I mix the three items in order to stretch my potting soil. Also, as an apartment dweller, I like the idea of an item being small and lightweight so I don’t have to lug items up the stairs. Be aware, a little goes a long way. I usually put a very small handful in a large plant pot. I have also used this to root cuttings. Just put some Soil Moist in a vase with water. Place the cuttings in the vase and wait for roots.

Unhappy plants
Our plants did not like this stuff. Thought it would help cut down on watering needs during the summer. Instead, I had to repot almost everything because plants started wilting and rotting in the first month. For some reason, our plants just did not like it. Dirt was a gelatinous mess when I repotted. Our plants are happier being drying out on occasion that they were with this in their pots.

This Product Holds Water
A little goes a long way? I had no idea the crystals expanded SO MUCH! So I may have overdone it with the first application. But they do hold water well, and helped my houseplants make it through a mini vacation without watering.

It works great.
In addition to using for plants, I use it in my headbands.

Good in winter for house plants... keeps up the moisture content despite the furnace being on
I used this kind of product when I had patio plants in Texas too... kept them alive in the summer... no easy feat.
