Size:1 Pound Chunks 1/4 Pound: Packaged in a 4 x 4 x 4 inch box. Pieces range from 1/2 to 4 inches in length. 1/2 Pound: Packaged in a 8 x 4 x 4 box. Pieces range from 1/2 to 8 inches in length. 1 Pound (regular): Packaged in a 8 x 6 x 4 inch box. Pieces range from 1/2 to 8 inches and there are approximately 30-40 pieces per pound. 1 Pound (chunks): Packaged in a 8 x 4 x 4 box. Pieces range from 1 to 8 inches and there are approximately 6-10 pieces per pound. 5 and 10 pound quantities will receive their order in a large box. This cholla is raw and has imperfections and you should not expect whole, perfect pieces. Some pieces are broken, have rough edges, cut at weird angles, brittle, etc.—we consider this our “scraps” from our standard cutting lengths. This cholla was collected in a natural (no chemicals used in the area, etc) area. It has not been treated in any way. We do dust off loose dirt/debris and cut off sections that are too brittle. No thorns!! Cholla is great for a variety of things--reptiles, hermit crabs, chinchillas, rabbits, aquariums, pleco, shrimp, birds, crafts, air plants, creating biofilm...the list goes on! Just know that when you buy from me--I would never send you anything that I would not personally use in my own setup. **Since cholla comes from the great outdoors, each piece will be unique--so various coloring, knots, curves, etc. should be expected.** THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL AND DONE AT BUYERS DISCRETION: To prepare the wood before placing in an aquarium or pet habitat, boil it or soak it in hot water to remove any native soils that may be present, reduce excess tannins and to make the wood sink. The time will vary in regards to how long this process will take—it could be hours, it could be weeks, everyone has different results.
