Tech Armor HD Clear Film Screen Protectors Designed for Samsung Galaxy S5 (2014) 3 Pack

I bought this product new when we ordered the Galaxy S5,, but we did not apply them initially (for whatever reason). Now the phone is being handed down to a relative and I have applied the Tech Armor screen protector and a new case to the phone for extra protection. The product comes with great step by step instructions, and a micro fiber cloth to wipe off the screen after you have clean it with rubbing alcohol, There is also a sturdy plastic tool to squeegee any small air bubbles that occur during installation. And there are 4 adhesive strips to extract any small dust particles that get under the film during installation.All of the Tech Armor film products have these pieces and it makes for a very nicely protected product when complete. The only word of advise is to be very careful when pulling the #2 (outside) film protection off of the finished product, because if you pull too quick , you can pull up the protective film also, and then you will have to start over again.

Background: I originally had an Armor Suit military shield wet application screen protector installed, but after just a month the so called "self healing" had failed miserably (big gash across the screen from god knows what) and there was a sort of mosaic effect from the liquid used in application under the screen. I decided to go with a dry application screen protector, and these had the best reviews.So the 3-pack I received from Tech Armor came with one damaged and I failed installing the other two. I followed the instructions on the site to the best of my ability, but I just couldn't get them installed without dust getting under there and ruining it. I contacted customer support and they sent me out a brand new 3-pack without any hassle, all I had to do was give them my order number.I got the install right the first try with the new pack by using the hinge method (look it up on Youtube), and applying in the bathroom after running a hot shower for a few minutes to steam the room and take the dust particles out of the air.These seem a lot more durable than the armor shield protectors, although the protector does have a few scratches here and there after 2 months of use. Clarity is great, but it does attract a lot of finger oil and dust after a while (more so than the phone's glass underneath), and my finger doesn't slide quite as well with it on. Overall it's a great product, and the customer service is excellent.

Received the product and later on that evening I went online, searched the Internet, and found a video that described how to install.It looked remarkably simple, but based on previous experience I thought it would be tricky to ensure you did not add bubbles while applying it to the screen. I was also concerned about lint getting under the screen during application.Per instructions I washed my hands. However I also cleaned off the screen with a cleaning wipe you use to clean a bathroom, and dried it off with a lint free paper towel before I used the micro fiber cloth for the final cleaning. I kept the wipe and paper towel nearby so I could keep my fingers clean while applying.I was shocked with how easy the application was. It was actually easier than any wet screen protection I had ever applied on any previous smartphone. I only had one or two small bubbles which were easily removed.Honestly can't tell anything is on the phone, so far it has no problems staying on when I take off my Ballistic Tough Jacket Case to swap batteries.Can't give more than 4 stars because I need to see how it holds up over the next few months and see how well it protects the phone. I usually purchase the cheapest screen protector I can get. I'm talking a buck for a 5-pack kinda cheap. I never really saw a point to buying a more expensive one -- a protector is a protector, right?Wrong. Tech Armor's screen protector is nothing like the cheap ones, let me tell ya.I've gotten pretty good at installing protectors, having installed probably around a hundred over the years between mine and my family's various electronic devices. This one was by far the easiest I've ever installed. There were a few times during the installation of this screen where I messed up and thought to myself, "Well, time to trash this one." But lo and behold, this protector is virtually idiot proof; I peeled off that screen almost completely about 3 times removing the stray speck of dust and it still installed flawlessly. Zero bubbles. Nada. Zilch. OK, Tech Armor. I'm impressed.I didn't watch the instructional video so in case they didn't mention it there, those little stickers included in the pack are used to remove dust from off your screen AND on the adhesive side of the protector during installation. Don't be afraid to lift the protector off and fix its positioning if need-be.Regarding the performance of the screen, it feels a little rubbery, but not as rubbery as the military grade wet screens are after installation. I believe that it is scratch absorbent, but not to the degree of the military grade ones. It feels pretty smooth to swipe my finger around, with just a bit of drag. Touch capabilities are very responsive and do not seem to be affected by the protector (I have not tested fingerprint scanner since I do not use it).Negatives: the protector is a smidge smaller than the actual size of the glass, more so than what I am used to seeing. This makes it easier to install it onto the screen, but for those of you who do not like that half-millimeter of exposed glass on the edges, this may bother you quite a bit. The protector also shows fingerprints extremely well. As these are more pet peeves, I did not dock a star.Bottom line: Easy to install, looks great, and lifetime warranty! Tech Armor has a convert. I will never go back to the cheap screens after this.--Update Dec 12, 2014--I am still using the same screen I installed in the above review. During this 6 month period, my phone has endured a couple short falls, being banged around in my bag and pocket, being rinsed under the faucet, the humidity and spray from a shower, and general manhandling. The shield has sustained some scratches (none to the point where I notice them while the screen is lit), but otherwise is intact. The edges are not lifting nor seem to show any indication of doing so. Usually at this point, I'd already be on screen #2 with a cheaper brand.I should mention that I recently purchased TechArmor's protector for the Surface Pro 3, and installation went just as smoothly on that as it did for this phone.--Update Sept 11, 2016--It's been more than 2 years since I first installed this screen protector, and just last week I decided to remove it because I found the 2nd sheet (the pack comes with 2 sheets) while cleaning my desk and figured why not. Removal was easy, however it did leave behind a residue on my phone screen which I was able to wipe away with a damp towel. I messed up about 10 times while applying the new sheet, but as stated before, this shield is really forgiving. Once again, it applied with zero bubbles. I am highly satisfied with this product.

i don't expect much from screen protectors and i would never spend 10$ either for a pack when you can get them for half that. These guys actually surprised me. Took 6 seconds to put on and no trouble. Fits perfectly and the thickness is so slim you cant tell theres a screen protector on my phone. need to look very closely to see it. Same goes for when i turn it on and look a the lit screen. super clear. What impressed me was the whole package itself and the quality. Super slim screen but at the same time a certain rigidity to it that will make putting it on troubleless and FINALLY a company who gives a PLASTIC applicator.Thicker then a credit card and small its perfect. Well worth the 6$. Will be buying others when need be from them for sure.
