As all Magnanni shoes these are excellent ones. Very beautiful and stylish. I just tried them a few days and so can't say I can wear them all day intensively (walking). These ones does not have that soft cushioning sole as Engineer model but are also comfortable and are o.k. for whole day in office or evening in theatre.

While not perfect: I did give 5 stars because I do ...
Let me preface my review with a couple of facts.I have worn these boots new in the store; but the ones I own were a used purchase. At this time of this writing, I've not owned them very long. I have yet to try more than a couple hours at a stint.I have little experience with dress boots; though I've long worn engineer and trail boots (most recently ecco's). I have done nothing more than walk around the store in other dress boots.I'm used to having an insert with arch and meta-tarsal support inserted in my shoe, and I do not in these. While not perfect: I did give 5 stars because I do love these boots.Having tried on a multitude of dress boots over the course of a couple weeks, I came to the conclusion that the Magnanni Lyon was my favorite. Its strong styling meant that it was not nearly as "goes with everything" as my existing dress shoes; and indeed: this would feel a bit out of place with my suit, but these are very beautiful and I enjoy being seen in them. They are also among the most comfortable of any of the dress boots I've tried on (including contemporaries like To NY). I did have to go a half-size down from my normal (these are 9.5 rather than 10), but these wore better out-of-the-box than most. I cannot add my inserts as that would make these too tight (I wonder what a size 10 would do with inserts and something to reduce the heel), and so there's a bit more "strike" to my foot with each step than I am used to, but less than the other dress and cowboy boots I have tried.I can't make any personal comments on their long-term durability, but the previous owner had worn these for some time (based on sole wear), and the uppers still look like new.The soles are some artificial material (rubber) that grips well and appear to be Blake welted. There is an interior lining that I can't ID (might be a leather), that's very smooth (so perhaps not full-grain). The zipper has so far worked well and without problems. If and as I get more experience with competing boots, I may have more to offer.
