If you have any long or medium haired pets in your home, this is a must. My older cat started getting mats lately and my vet recommended this comb and it has changed the game. Slicker brush didn’t touch her mats and I have gotten out 3-4 handfuls in the last few hours (as she tolerates.) We have 5 long/medium haired family members (2 dogs and 3 cats) and this is one of the very best purchases I’ve ever made for them!

I purchased this V-rake after seeing it mentioned in a very comprehensive dog grooming book I borrowed from the library. It is literally a game changer for taking care of my F1 goldendoodle's coat. The small V-shaped rake lets you target small areas of knotted or matted fur, and you can slowly pick / brush at it to loosen up the knots. My dog does not appreciate getting brushed to the extend that it removes matting, but I think this is a better approach than shearing her like a sheep several times a year. Her coat feels much softer after getting this V-rake treatment. I wish I'd known about this rake when she was a puppy! Highly recommend for dogs who get matted fur.

I have a Ragdoll cat and this has really helped work out some mats near her armpits. A must have tool.

Bought this on recommendation from our veterinarian. She had one for her cat and said it worked really well - and IT DOES!We have a Maine Coon Cat - he produces a lot of fur, and when we got him, his fur was partially matted and had to be cut.It took a couple of "wrestling matches" to get him used to it, but now he lays still and purrs and rotates (!) to make sure I brush him on "all sides"...I joke with my wife and say that "I have removed half a cat today..." - after giving him a good brushing...Now, I can brush out the undercoat before it gets matted.Cat is happy!Owners are happy!

I have a long haired cat who hates being brushed. This is one of a whole bunch of diverse grooming tools I bought, and it's different than any of the others. I don't use it often, but when I do it's super helpful because of its unique function.Not to be used alone to groom the entire coat, but works wonders at getting tangles and clumps out of hard-to-reach areas that other tools can't get, such as lower chest and behind upper legs. Must be used with care, because it can tug at the cat's skin when there's a bad knot, which is when small SAFETY scissors (with rounded tips) become the best solution for a sensitive, long haired cat (but ONLY with EXTREME CAUTION so as not to risk cutting the cats skin). This is absolutely a must have if you have hairy dogs that shed, or mat. This rake gets right in the small areas and tight spots where the 4" rake can be awkward. Also for slowly picking away at mats it's perfect. I also like the single blade mat splitter for the really tough thick mats before working it with the V-rake. I have used this combination on Newfoundlands, Great Pyrenees, GSD, and now husky's.Super great tool.

I have a 150-lb Leonberger who is impossible to keep tidy. She loves dirt, muck and anything that will dirty up the house. Plus, she sheds...constantly...in addition to blowing her coat twice a year. If she wasn't such a loveable goof.... LoL...Anyway, she always winds up matted and nothing prevents it, and nothing is "easy" as far as undoing the mats...until now.I bought this and a German-made super expensive professional de-matter, and this lil cheap thing blows it away!!! With one swipe of this de-matter(is that a real word?lol) I get tons more hair groomed and removed than 5 minutes with the German expensive thing! Literally its that easy...just brush with it...No sawing at mats, no pulling on her hair, just swipe and done.I've spent a fortune on clipper vacs, scissors, brushes, combs and like 20 different mat removers and this thing is tops in my book!I dont know how it would work on other breeds, but if your dog has a thick, long double coat that tends to knot up, this is the best money you'll ever spend...besides a Dyson Animal Vac.haha

Breeder of Bichons since 1997. Have used all kinds of gimmicks and stuff thatwrecks their coats. This will get the worst matts out without destroying theircoat. Best money ever spent on such a cheap tool.Hats off to the inventors.
