I am so pleased with this deck box, and with the price, also, which was less than any I've seen in Lowe's or Home Depot (haven't actually seen this exact model, and most that I have found are not nearly as attractive and are considerably more costly). I ordered the smaller of the two sizes, which turns out to be quite ample for holding all my pool supplies, and then some! Assembly was a breeze, and I was able to do it without assistance. It is light enough to then move into place from the place on my deck where I assembled it. It has been there ever since, which is now about 5-6 months. While I wouldn't be expecting people to sit on it on a regular basis, I notice that it easily accommodates my 150-pound frame. We had quite a bit of wind and rain here in NJ with hurricane Sandy, and my deck box remained dry, stationary, and undisturbed in any way. The top locks securely and all the contents have remained clean and dry. It will be interesting to see how well the dark brown coloring weathers a winter or two, but so far this delightful deck box looks terrific and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.Update: The above review was written several years ago. Now, in Feb 2020, I've owned it for about 8 years, and it is still both functional and presentable in appearance. I highly recommend the Suncast Deck Box if you're looking for a product that will look good, last long, and do what it's supposed to do - keep contents secure and dry! Kudos to the Suncast company for creating a great product.

The media could not be loaded.  Update: My original review could not attest to its ability to keep the contents dry. That changed last night. It poured, rained hard for a good while. The video shows rain, but not the hard rain I’m talking about. I’m happy to say the contents were kept bone dry. The bottom of the unit showed no signs of even a drop of water. This was a great purchase for me.Original;Everything lined up and joined up to each other nicely. Someone commented they had to drill holes to attach the lid because the bar wouldn’t slide through. There is no bar that slides through all, just 3 pins. I’m a big guy, 220+ lbs, and I can sit on the lid with no problem. The quality is better than expected. Looks and performs great.

I ordered this deck box to replace a previous Suncast model (it was almost exactly like this one, same dimensions and finish, but it had a flat top). I use it for a toybox for my two children in their playroom. I wasn't expecting much since my older model had literally fallen apart after less than 2 years of use.I was pleasantly surprised with this one! The plastic is much thicker than the other model, and the tabs that hold the front, back, sides and bottom together are much sturdier than the old model. Also, the pins used in the lid hinges are triple the diameter of the old models.Overall, its pretty sturdy. It doesn't seem like it will be, but once its all put together, it is. I had no trouble putting it together myself, with no help from my husband. It went together in less than 15 minutes too, but that time would have been shorter if I hadn't had a child climbing on me the whole time I was trying to assemble it!In the photo, the deck box looks like it has a really rounded top. This almost deterred me from purchasing it because I thought I wouldn't be able to stack anything on top of it at all. I'm glad I went ahead and got it though, because although it is slightly curved, its not nearly as rounded as it looks in the photo.I just gave this item 4 stars, because I'm not sure how watertight it is, or how it would stand up to daily use, as I've only had it a few days. Overall, it seems like a great product!

I'm writing this in December 2018 and bought it back in 2014.I was recommending a deck box to a friend and looked up the one we bought on Amazon. I couldn't believe it was 4 years ago! I figured I've got to write a review because it's been a fantastic item and is as good as new 4 years later.The deck box came with all the necessary parts and pieces and easy to follow instructions. It was like a snap-together toy for adults and putting it together was straightforward and satisfying (you feel like you "built" something while all you did was an adult-sized snap-together project LOL!).The quality of this deck box is superb. It has held up to North-East coastal weather extremes - snow, sleet, ice and rain in the winter and heat, sun and humidity in the summer (we're a little over a mile off the coast). It sits outdoors on a porch and keeps everything inside it nice and dry. Our deck box gets a lot of use, is opened and closed daily and has held up really well. It has these sturdy plastic strips inside the lid that keeps the lid from opening too far and falling backwards. They serve a great function and have held up nicely as well.The basket weave pattern is pleasant and classy. It does not look cheap at all, which it easily could have. The brown color (they call it "mocha") is a dark brown color that goes well with a brick and concrete porch.It looks and functions exactly as it did the day we put it together which is simply fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone considering a deck box.

I love the way this looks and boy is it spacious. I can’t believe all the storage room In it.It looks nice in my sunroom not gaudy or in the way.It is an enclosed room so it does not have to stand up to any kind of bad weather.

It’s large and can accommodate 2 recycle bins plus assundry small gardening tools, leaf bags etc. It keeps my recycle, gardening tools neat and out of sight although still easy to access. And, the critters can’t get in.

When I started searching for outdoor storage (to stash my huge Christmas tree on my balcony), I could not believe how expensive these boxes were. It's crazy that 6 pieces of plastic could cost so much money but I suppose it's the cost of holding a huge item like this.My main requirements for this box was that it keeps out rain and insects. Over the few weeks I've had this box, we've had crazy amounts of wind & rain and there is no evidence of water seeping inside. Judging from the construction of the box, it does not appear possible for an insect to get inside - there just are no gaps for them to seep into.While assembling the box, I constantly thought that it was garbage-quality (their instructions are pretty useless) and that there was no way this would look nice... but now that it's assembled, it actually looks very nice feels substantial. It is crucial to understand the instructions and make sure everything is aligned properly when building this box.This particular box is very aggressively priced compared to the competition but I have found it to be very sturdy and attractive.--Edit--It's been over a year and a half. No problems at all with this box. It has kept our Christmas Tree dry and absolutely fine. It worked so well, I purchased a second one to store random clutter around our home on the balcony.--Edit 2--It has been about two years now. Still perfect. Added a third one (larger, the same model though) to my hoarder balcony.
