The Boys Omnibus Vol. 1 - Photo Cover Edition: Omnibus Volume 1 (BOYS OMNIBUS TP 2018)

Boys is a great example of how comic book aimed at adults used to be. It's gritty, hard hitting and contains a mixture of parody, satire and straight talking in just the right ratio.The characters are over the top yet also relatable, and there is absolutely no regard for political correctness and over sensitvity. Character can be crass or violent and yet make compelling arguments against overreach and violence. And because this is an older comic it do not push its politics down your throat like modern Marvel or DC.If anything, Boys show how far the comic book industry has fallen, and what can be done when comics are written by artists rather than activists.There are strong female characters, strong minority characters and an LGBT sub plot, but none of it feels forced or artifical. These characters have a part to play in the story and weren't added in as tokens to pander to publishers. They comment on racism, sexism, homophobia, and corporate greed while placing the story above all else.A good read, though possibly too much sex and violence for some people's taste.

So here's my review its a good and entertaining book but some bits dislike that i cant remember wss in the series a hero who has a compulsion to have his way with anything there an then which does to a cat which i thought why put something like that in their was something else i disliked but forgot its a good enjoyable book just couple bits lets it down

I bought this for my boyfriend and he really liked it! So much so he is looking into buying some Compound V for himself! I told him it’s not real but he said he knows a guy called the butcher and thinks he can help get his hands on a vial of the stuff. He says he works down town by the old Woolworths building which is now an Iceland. I can’t help but wonder what his super power might be if he does manage to get hold of a vial though... Invisibility? Laser vision? Super speed? Super strength??? The possibilities are endless! Just like this series!

The actual comic is great but it's bent and covered in adhesive like stickers were removed. Bad quality, no time to return it as it's a gift. Disappointing as could've just bought second hand copy for cheaper if I had known.

Fun and entertaining read, with great artwork. Be warned it's pretty bloody.

Delayed twice and when it arrived it was damaged. Back cover has peeling plastic coating, all corners are damaged and the whole thing is warped. There was no time to return it before recipient's birthday.

Having watched 'the boys' on tv I decided to buy the first graphic novel and really wasn't disappointed. This walks all over the tv show and with quite a different storyline too. Buy it and enjoy the violence and bad language
