Book on Self Discovery
This book was on the list of America's 100 best reads. Be prepared for a deep book related to self discovery. I read it in one day and appreciated the message. If you are looking for light entertainment this is not for you.

very low quality printing/binding
pages came apart as I would read - really poor quality. I had gifted my original copy and figured I would save a few getting this version .... definitely don't suggest you following my lead - go for the original print with the blue cover

Buy This Book — Just from Another Seller
The novel itself is fantastic. I’m leaving this review so that people can potentially be aware they should purchase it from a different publisher. This book is abundant with typos and even what appears to be a note-to-self from the editor, to the point of being very distracting. It appears nobody ever read through and edited this translation before it was put up for sale. The cover is made of low quality material and curled all the way back after one day of sitting on a coffee table.Highly recommend the novel, just from a different seller.

Great book, not so great publisher
Pros: The cover feels nice and is attractive. Larger than the pocket versions so more comfortable to read.Cons: Many, many typos, words left out and grammar mistakes are VERY distracting. This needs a proofread.

Read once a decade for enlightenment self-diagnostic
I read this book over a decade ago, and hardly understood any of it, but was still swept along by the elegant story-telling, the natural intrigue set up by the premise of a young man in search of wisdom, perhaps enlightenment. This time around, I found the first part of the book exhilarating: it resonated in a way it had not previously, I felt like I was reading a book brimming with latent truths, and I had been handed the key to understanding them. Then I became lost again, but pleasantly so, any hard truth or meaning just beyond my grasp, but Hesse's talents carrying the book successfully to its end.A short book, but deep, like a beautiful pool that is sometimes clear and sunlit. This particular edition is a very nice slim hardback, of good quality, and should last a lifetime. It will need to...Joseph Smith Finally My Ambulance The Wolf & TaurusFinally My AmbulanceThe Wolf & Taurus

interesting and worth a look
This is quite a short novel, which I believe was very popular in the 60's. It contains some interesting concepts and indian philosophy and will appeal to anyone with an interest in meditation, the 'pursuit' of enlightenment or philosophy. I read it perhaps too quickly, and while interesting it did not have a massive impact on me. However I did enjoy it and recommend it to anyone who is interested in this kind of book. I think it will mull around in my head for a while.

Deep Man!
One of my favourite books, that makes you want to go and find the meaning of life. Especially when you live near Milton Keynes.

Do read it!
One of the first books I red when starting my spiritual search. It is indeed, the story of each one of us, with all the stages we go through from the moment we are born till the moment we die. The great bit about the book is that it allows mistake, it is not the story of the perfect being, having a perfect life, but of a random person having ups and downs in their search for enlightment.A brilliant must-read book that brings hope to humanity and delights the restless soul.

Not story of the Buddha
The title Siddartha is misleading as I was looking for the story of the Buddha. Thankfully it did not cost much and went in the bin.
