Had a need for a small fan in a small window this fits the bill perfectly just pull a cord and it's working exactly as needed love the fact the louvers work the way they do and in bad weather just turn it off and it closes right up.

Attic bedroom REALLY needed an exhaust fan! While we've used a window model to pull heat out during the day, the bring cool air in at night, only one window was installed high enough to pull the heat accumulated at the ceiling. We didn't build the house but I sure would have done it differently if we had.I read the reviews and the mfr instructions that this fan is ONLY for *wall installation*! but we already had a hole in the ceiling where the stovepipe (from the wood stove downstairs - that we removed) went, so I thought "what's the worst that can happen if we put it in the ceiling?"It's an absolutely perfect fit! We removed the "metal frame" for the stovepipe, cut the hole about a half inch larger on one side for the 10" fan, screwed the fan mounting into the wood framing like it was made for this fan.The ceiling placement is near the light switch w/ an electrical outlet BUT the fan's electrical cord would be perfect IF IT WAS 12 INCHES LONGER! As it is, I had to mount an extension cord to the wall.We only use the "exhaust" function to suck the heat accumulated at the ceiling outside - I can only imagine the "creepy crawly" things the fan would bring in... The shutters work perfectly (after clearing away insulation that could obstruct opening and closing). We've had it running practically 24/7 since installing it and it's kept the bedroom 10° to 15° cooler!Personally, I like the "white noise" of the fan, so I can't complain about it. On the other hand - since the fan is close to the TV, and husband watches TV upstairs, he has to turn up the volume 🤷‍♀️ meh, it's fine.So, turns out you can indeed mount it in the ceiling without terrible repercussions! Great fan for the price, easy to install, and works well.I gave it 5 stars but would dock it half a star for the short electrical cord - c'mon guys, would another foot kill you?

I live in an old home that wasn’t built with exhaust fans in the bathrooms and I needed something to get the steam out when taking a shower. This fan did the trick. I built a window frame out of scrap wood I had laying around the garage and it came together pretty good. I had to add some spacers to bring the fan inside more so the shutters would clear the screen. The fan moves a good amount of air and is quiet. The power cord is way too short which is the only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5. I have an outlet close to the window and it still wouldn’t reach.

this fan is outstanding,,,I got 30,000 hrs out of this fan, so I ordered another one. this fan ran a constant 24 hrs a day for 3 1/2 years. Can not beat it for 50 bucks...to bad not all these products can say the same.

Received this fan on April 9th and it’s now April 17th and this fan is already locked up and won’t work!

Bought this to keep my Xbox Series X cool while in my entertainment center. It's does it's job well.

I'm replacing the one I already have.Purchased 04/15/2023 - It's now 04/11/2025 it has lasted two years.There have been a few problemsI had to make a custom frame for it, well I knew that before buying it.I had problems with the pull switch, finally had to shorten the spring.Shutters no longer open or close completely, I couldn't fix that one.The capacitor is going bad now, I'm going to replace the whole thing - pull the old one and screw a new one in since I've got the frame to fit it.For $60 it should have lasted more than two years.

Excellent fan! I bought this fan to install in front of an A/C vent that has very little air coming out of it. It is a reversible fan and I have no use for that feature, thought it works very good is this mode too. It is a simple action of one pull on the cord for out exhaust and two pulls to get the pulling in of the air. This fan is working so good that I bought a second on for on other vent in my work shop that also had very low air volume. For the first time, both vents are now making the shop area very comfortable. They are easy to install and are reasonably quiet. I am very happy with this fan!
