Genius Party / Genius Party Beyond Double Feature [Blu-ray]

First off I would like to Thank Gkids and Shout Factory for getting there hands on this one of a kind animated gem from Japan. Heard about this years ago, only to find out there is no North American copy of this Movie anywhere. I have waited a long time and it's finally here. Now let's get to the Movie. This Movie as it says on the cover, has 12 anime shorts from 12 anime Directors. Some of the Directors that were involved in this film are already known here in America such as Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo), Masaaki Yuasa (Mind Game, Devilman Crybaby and Tatami Galaxy) and Shoji Kawamuri (Macross series). That's just to name a few of them. There are some of the Directors in this movie where it's their first time Having free reign over a project. I enjoyed the films on this set. They are all unique in it's own way. The character design, the Animation and the story. Even the film that was CGI animated was done the right way. Some are wacky like Masaaki Yuasa's "Happy Machine". Some are absolutely beautiful like Koji Morimoto's "Dimension Bomb" the very last one. You have high school romance, Mecha, Steampunk and Philosophy. As someone who get's tired of the things I see in today's anime that are so fan-based and totally look ridiculous (I am talking character design and big boobs everywhere). This is a nice break from all that. I do have one problem with this blu ray release. They are no bonus features anywhere for these films. It would be nice watch a "making of" or maybe an exclusive booklet describing each of the films and some inside info on their creators. I mean I would like to know more about the other directors that aren't known here in America but oh well. If you liked the "Animatrix", "Robot Carnival" and "Memories". This is a must own and a must watch, even if you love Animation period. This is a must have.

Finally getting a home release of these GEMS!!! , each animated short (12) is an artistic masterpiece visually stunning and so detailed in some . The raw hand drawn 2d styles from very popular and legendary animators and directors each unique and different. Some with little to no dialogue but they show fluent emotion and speak loudly with character designs and fluid animation. With very different styles the animation pops out in a huge way in all of these . It's easily the best quality . This is a must own.

El Blu-ray llegó en tiempo y en buen estado. Estos cortos animados por grandes profesionales del anime son excelentes, solo trae subtítulos en inglés, aún así los cortos se disfrutan mucho.
