My 2.5 y.o son loves these darn things. He's not exactly gentle, and they're still in one piece 10/10 would recommend

Expecting more
It was great for the little boy I ordered it for. But I was expecting a little more. It’s a hard plastic Dino and you move one arm and it’s face glows red and it makes noise. Cute but simple. Maybe I was just expecting more. But it didn’t cost much, so I wasn’t unsatisfied.

A GREAT ROARING DINOSAUR AT A GREAT PRICE!
I like that Battat goes to the trouble to place this nicely colored dinosaur into a habitat/diorama that showcases what it may have been like where the dinosaur lived. He comes nicely packaged in his own setting. It's like bringing a piece of a Museum home!!! I also like that the back of the box always highlights details about how he lived, what he ate, etc. They then give you a couple of paragraphs about the dinosaur and where his skeleton was found. This isn't just a dinosaur, it's a Museum and learning experience! LIGHTS AND SOUNDS: I'm a stickler for toys not performing as they should, so when I read all the bad reviews, I was sure my dinosaur wouldn't light up and growl. It did. Mt dinosaur only needed a firm pull back of the forearm to get him to work. I feel any three-year-old would have the strength to do what I did. I don't know whether my experience was different than other reviewers because I received an exceptionally good dinosaur. But as a Nursery leader I've seen young kids destroy toys with much less effort than it takes to move this dinosaur's arm. I really think if Battat perhaps loosened the arm a little bit so it lights up easier, it would make everyone happier, so why not do it? BATTERIES: This toy requires 3 - AG13 (1,5V) batteries to run. The dinosaur comes with a set already installed, so he's ready for action right out of the box. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver (cross-cut type) to access the batteries which are installed underneath their tail right behind the hind legs. Please dispose of the used batteries right away or put them somewhere where your little one can't access them until you can dispose of them properly. I read that these button cell batteries, which can be easily swallowed, can kill a child in about two hours. That is why manufacturers place these batteries inside a compartment that has to be screwed into place -- it's for your child's safety. OTHER FEATURES: $10 for a dinosaur that can roar and light up is a very good price for a dinosaur this size! This dinosaur is 12" long and 7" high. Back when I was young (when dinosaurs roamed the earth and the earth was new) you could pay that much for a dinosaur that did absolutely nothing. One thing I don't like about this dinosaur is how shiny the paint is. I don't believe dinosaur skin was shiny. On my dinosaur, the paint is pretty good everywhere except for his hind legs. The coloring and attention to details everywhere else is fantastic, except for the hind legs. My dinosaur stands up okay if you can fiddle with it long enough to find that "sweet spot" where he is completely balanced. But if he is bumped, down he goes. I recommend this dinosaur very highly. For $10, I think he's a steal!

Super fun line of interesting types of dinosaurs
Love these dinosaurs! We have a number of dinosaurs from this line, and what I really appreciate about them is how they have come up with some less obvious and more interesting dinosaurs to profile. This one has a cool sound effect, and it stands up just fine on hard surfaces, though not so great on carpet. My son has a number of dinosaurs from this line, and about half of them have come needing a new battery. We like to play with them indoors, create scenes and action packed adventures, and sometimes we will bring them outside to march around and have them burst bubbles. Dinosaurs love eating bubbles, in case you didn't know. Overall these are very sturdy toys, fun to play with and nice that they have some unusual varieties of dinosaur and not just the usual T Rex and Stegosaurus.

Doesn’t work
The dinosaur itself is fun. It’s very colorful and has great details. It came broken however. It won’t light up or make any noise. I even put new batteries in. I got 3 of this brand and only 1 of them work. My son was very upset!

Excellent quality
My experience with Battat has been almost perfect in terms of quality and appeal. This dino is just-right in size for a younger child. Sometimes bigger isn't better! This doesn't take much space and it has incredible attention to detail in the design and art work. I'm not a fan of lights and sounds in a toy - I feel like they inevitably break down long before the toy itself has outlived its usefulness, and it leads to a sense of obsolescence. But I do get that kids **LOVE** lights and sounds - especially when it's glowing eyes and menacing roars! This is perfect for our little 3yo granddaughter who is obsessed with dinos. I can predict a total "Toy Story" scenario playing out on her floor with this dino taking a starring role.
