Mega Construx Game of Thrones Daenerys & Drogon

I am VERY impressed with this Black series set from Mega Construx. We finally binged all 8 seasons of Game of Thrones in just under 2 weeks and became huge fans. And when we're big fans of something, we start buying collectibles.I had previously purchased some other smaller Mega Construx sets based on the Call of Duty video game. I also purchased the Alien queen from Aliens. At the time, however, we hadn't watched Game of Thrones yet so I had no idea these GOT sets even existed!This is a huge set when completed and I'm really impressed with Mega's attention to detail. I also like that they incorporate cloth materials into their sets (Drogon's wings.) This is NOT an easy build by any means. Definitely for an experienced builder. But if you're patient and follow the instructions very carefully, you'll be rewarded with a truly awesome piece for your collection. Tons of articulation in Drogon's wings, legs, and tail make this easy to move in all kinds of different poses.The instructions are split into 2 books with each containing approximately 30 pages. The pieces come in 10 separate bags. Even the mini figure of Daenerys is impressive. The articulation of Mega's mini figures blows Lego's out of the water.I paid just over $40 for this set and, at that price, this is an absolute no-brainer. Don't even hesitate if you're a fan of construction sets OR Game of Thrones. This normally sells for close to $70 and even at that price, it's a great set. $40 makes it a must have. I will be purchasing more of Mega's "Black Series" sets in the future. This set made me a fan!

I love this set. The dragon is great, It’s one of my favorite brick built things I’ve ever bought and it out does Lego by leaps and bounds. The wingspan is huge, the bricks are sturdy, It wasn’t hard to put together at all. I really do highly recommend this toy for any Game of Thrones fan or even dragon fan. The only complaint I have is that my Daenerys figure came with some pretty lackluster face printing that rubbed off with a single wipe of my finger. But she barely matters in the grand scheme of the set and I really only bought it for drogon.

I'm a long time lego fan, and my son is just now getting to the age where he can start playing with them. I own the original lego dragons, Ninjago dragons, and even some from other brands. This is by far the BEST one you could ever own! It's huge and is very well made. I absolutely intend to buy the other colors after seeing how great this one is.

As a long time fan of both mega construction and Game of Thrones my interests were peaked but so were my expectations. I can gladly say that it exceeded both. When I purchased this set I was pleased with the look and design and even though the price was a bit high I could tell right away I would be getting more bang for my buck. When I first opened it and saw the mini gig of Daenerys I thought it looked amazing. Very detailed. Once I was done construction Drogon I posed it and put it on a display shelf and It looked awesome. If your a fan of game of thrones or just dragons in general I would recommend this set. The dragons articulation looks realistic and faithful to the show and that was something I would expect them to mess up on but they didn’t. Great set.

Would have given 5 stars if I wasn't missing two small pieces. Two of the 2 stud plates were missing but I had some spares from another set so it wasn't an issue. Daenerys looks a little weird to say the least, definitely not a lot of detail there. The images in the instructions don't really match the paint scheme of the actual bricks but this isn't the top brand so it's expected. I'm VERY impressed with the quality of the wing fabric though, it's beautiful and soft. I've purchased several sets of this brand and have never been let down.

This is truly an amazing build. Drogon is built up with basic elements and special pieces to render a truly amazing model. The wings are made of fabric and have a great weight that makes them feel very organic and life-like. Daenerys is also well-done with great painted details. It was a little hard to get the chain on her but other than that it is an excellent figure. At the current price ($45), it is an amazing buy. Fans of Game of Thrones, building sets, or dragons will not be disappointed. It is a complex build, so it might not be the right set for kids (not to mention the nature of the material). This is an advanced build, so fans of simpler builds may be intimidated.

My son LOVED this for his 9th birthday and I didn't have to help hardly at all. There were missing pieces in 3 of the nags though. I had to make shift a couple pieces from leftover legos we had from other sets. But we made it work and it truly is an incredible piece! But..comes apart very easily so he can't really play with it. So I may need to take it apart and glue it all together. The wings are INSANE 🤩

If you are a fan of dragons (not to mention GoT), then you know it is extremely difficult to find a dragon that is sizable and posable. This set not only accomplishes that, but really makes the beast feel organic with the large cloth wings and the shaping of the brick build. Mega smoothes out virtually every area so that the studs not an eyesore, and the ones that remain can very much represent scales. The articulation can provide some awesome organic poses, but just don't be too disappointed if the wings can't hold a pose forever as the cloth is quite thick and can weight the wings down if you do not prop up the "fingers" in a way that they'll stay. The designers make the build in such a way that the "fingers" are criss crossed at the "palm" so they support one another. The articulated toes look amazing in almost any pose and the red fins on the neck and tail add a lot of organic texture. I don't know of any dragon on the market that can give you this much detail, possibility, and sheer SIZE that this one provides. Don't hesitate. Buy this set!
