My girlfriend & I have the older versions on our cars & they work great. We like the newer version because it uses AA batteries instead of C batteries allowing the new one to be shorter in height making it even easier to place it under hood. When car is in motion, unit senses movement and turns off & turns back on when no motion is sensed. There is also a hardwired version available. This product does work.

Since I have installed on my car I have not seen any more signs of mice. super easy to install under the hood. I really like the fact it uses AA batteries!! I took a several hour long trip on a hot day, that night i checked to see if it still worked since it is around so much heat under the hood, and it was still working just as it should have been, seems to be built to last.

I have another brand, similar device that needs periodical power reset because it hangs for some reason. This one is much better and I feel works also better. It even helps to get rid of birds out of my tree. 4 stars because it makes loud clicking sound when it starts a series of ultrasound pulses.

First things first: Deterrents are only as good as the willpower of a rodent. This is more of a low level deterrent. Don't ever expect this as a full proof system.The nature of actually testing this is quite difficult. All I can say is for the past two years I haven't had a rodent incident with my vehicle. It has functionally worked and usually gives me about 3-4 months of battery life. Hopefully it will still work for years to come.

I am so happy to say... IT WORKS. I had squirrels constantly messing up my Weber Genesis 3 under a cover. Those side tables were covered with their acorn shells, pee, etc. Disgusting. My covered generator too, was a popular dining and restroom facility for the squirrels. Yes, I live in a mountainous, rural, wooded NorCal scenario. It's their world, not mine, so not keen to kill them. I have been systematically trying various things (cayenne, the Mint oil stuff, spray-on stuff, sachets), so have a bit of a testing regimen. I can say after nearly two weeks, zero squirrel evidence in either spot. Here to order more for my vehicle engines and a couple other spots. I was starting to think this was an un-win-able battle, but now I have tasted victory and it's sweet. Highly recommended. Clean, non-lethal and effective.

I ordered the Loraffe Ultrasonic Mouse Repeller to use in our camper van after a frightful 2 nights of mice during a recent trip. We've cleaned and bleached the van, put peppermint sticks into crevices at the headliner and floor, and have 2 couple of battery operated traps. We will be using the Ultrasonic placed under the engine after we stop to camp. At first I was hesitant, not knowing how our 10 year old basenji would react to the ultrasonic feature, but testing this out three feet from her while she was sleeping, the high frequency sound doesn't appear to affect her. Time will tell if this deters mice from getting into our van, but no mice is a good sign.

Was away for 6 months with this under the hood of my garaged car. A friend checked on it 3mo in: no mice. But upon return after 6mo, a cute little mouse and his family were found partying to the strobe lights under the hood! Upsides: battery didn't die and was all-clear for 3mo. Downsides: the mice apparently got used to it.

Bought this because I had a repair shop tell me I had a mouse/rat making a home in my engine bay and unless I set up traps in there to kill it that I would need to repair the car soon enough from the mouse eating through the wiring. I couldn't stand the thought of pulling a dead mouse out of my car so I gave this a shot instead. I have been going to the same shop for oil changes since then and have never heard of the mouse again! I have kept it in my car for almost a year now and it is still doing the job. Super satisfied with this product!
