My original experience was disappointment, as the unit stopped working after a month. The company was very good, however, very polite, and concerned. I read reviews of other buyers, and found my failed unit was an exception - everyone else loved theirs. The company immediately refunded my money, and I now consider Jinhoo a reliable and honorable company. By the way, the unit performed beautifully for 5 weeks, until one day, when it suddenly stopped. I can sometimes tend to be impatient. I didn't try to see why it stopped. I just threw it away and bought one from another company. Jinhoo contacted me and refunded my money. I did not contact them. They came to me. Excellent company.

Came quickly, exactly as advertised. Like that it has an hdmi output, and component outputs, a real-plus. Played one older DVD that on my x brand and older dvd unit had intermittent audio. On this player, that same dvd sounded and played perfectly.Pro: size, color price, quality, comes with a remote with lots of kool features. Great after sale communication with the seller wanting to assure I was satisfied with my purchase.Con: None really, although including 2 AAA batteries for the remote would be nice, but not essential as this unit offers great value for the $$.How much do I like it? I am being compensated for this review. I am attempting to be objective but they have only given me 72 hours to post this.The packaging was more professional than I expected for the price. It was well cushioned and came with audio and HDMI cables, but no AAA batteries for the remote. It was easy to install the unit and seems to function well. Initially, there was a rumbling sound from the motor when the DVD was loaded. Also, the remote must be very close to the unit in order for it to respond. Seems to be a weak remote even though I put fresh batteries in it. The software menus seems a little crude due to low resolution. I like the fact that there is no other software (like Netflix, etc) embedded in the unit!My biggest complaint would be that I have to double the volume of my amplifier compared to my old Samsung unit. But for the price, I am willing to live with it for now.UPDATE: the company emailed me and wanted me to increase the number of stars for an additional $10. I can't be bought! My 3 star rating stands.UPDATE #2: originally a "coupon" was added which said that if I reviewed this item within 3 days I would receive a $15 Amazon gift card. I have not received it. Further evidence that this is not a company I would purchase from or do business with again.

1/11/21 Update:The seller reached out to me and sent me a replacement dvd player. I have been testing it out for the past week and so far it hasn't had any major issues. I really appreciate sellers that do everything they can do to correct issues with their products. The people at Jinhoo sent me the replacement at no cost to me and I didn't have to return the broken unit. 5 stars for customer service! So... if you are having problems with your DVD player reach out to customer service so they can help you out.Original Review:This is a pretty crappy DVD player but I expected that since it was so cheap. The DVD player freezes up trying to do playback. You can push every button on the remote and nothing will happen. You have to turn it off completely and take the dvd out of the unit to get it to work again. I turned off the playback feature because it kept doing this. The remote is finicky. When you click on the DVD options it says it's unavailable but after a few seconds it works. Also, it mutes the tv when you try to use the buttons for scene selection. Save your money and buy a better dvd player. My plan is to devote this unit to RV camping and kid use so if it gets ruined it's no big deal.

Our old VCR/DVD player finally gave up the ghost. We have lots of DVDs that we enjoy watching, so the hunt was on for a suitable replacement. Let's be clear, you really only need the ability to play the disc and present a decent picture. This player does that well. Without understanding the technology of the HD 1080p Upscaling, it seems to produce a sharp, clear picture on our HD TV. It works well, has a simple remote, and is small and inconspicuous on the shelf.I imagine there are plenty of people looking for bigger and louder bells and whistles, but for me, at this price, this one is perfect.
