Ernest Sports ES14 Pro Portable Launch Monitor, Charcoal

Works as I would expect. Now that's its nice enough weather and can use outside, I think the distances it reports are close to what I expect so far. Didn't seem to work as well indoor but my hitting range in the garage my have contributed to that? Still checking it out as I haven't tried any shorter clubs with it yet. Have used it about 4 times outdoors and about 15 times indoor and can't hit less that a 7 iron or more that a 5 iron indoor due to ceiling height. Considered a Flightscope MEVO and the on unit display was one reason for picking the ES14, but after using it, that's not that big of a deal as I find I hardly look at the display other than setup I look at display on Iphone). I find that it reports most shots outdoor and missed about 10 to 20% indoor. Don't think the placement of the unit to the front and side of the ball is an issue as some have said as shanks I hit didn't come close to hitting the unit. However, if the turf is muddy, a fat shot can spray the unit with mud.

I was so excited to pick up a launch monitor jumping on the analytics bandwagon. But let me tell you in my first session the unit would only pick up about every 4th ball that I hit. I had to keep using the template to put the ball in the exact, exact, exact right spot. I am talking it could not be 1/4 inch off in any direction. I spent more time making sure the ball and template were all aligned than I did getting my swing dialed in. Then with that thought in the back of my head on each swing I could not get any real work in.I will update this review once I get it out to the range but so far in my indoor net I am not impressed and will be returning it if this is its standard performance.Update: Took this out to the range today. Verdict? This item is absolute garbage. I spent the entire time trying to find out if the ball was going to be picked up when I hit it. I put tees exactly where the previous ball was picked up and it would not see the ball. I was taking most of my time at the range trying to see if my shot even registered. For such an expensive piece of equipment I would have expected better.I will be returning this unit. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GARBAGE.

Product was difficult to set up, get linked to my iPad and my Android tablet. Did not get the results I was expecting. Just about everytime I moved it around on the tee, the link would go out and I would spend 10-15 minutes trying to get it to re-connect for use.Will buy a different brand this spring.

Even using the template for the ES 14 and ball placement it does not consistently register each shot. Other than that the product works as advertised. Especially useful is the ability to email the results of a range session in Excel spreadsheet format so you can see areas of improvement and areas that still need work.

Unfortunately, this launch monitor doesn't give accurate readings. Visually, I would alternate between a high and low launch driver and I would get a higher reading on a low shot and visa versa. Couldn't trust the spin rates, carry distance and total distance.I returned my monitor for a refund.

Nice little package. Paired and connected to my Note3 with out problem. Went to driving range and lasered the flags. Wind was low and measured and es14 distances were very close. Perhaps a yard or two off. Worked with my driver and was making some swing changes as the session went. I was able to increase my head speed by 6 MPH while lowering the spin rate from 2400 to 2000.....increased my drives by 20 yds.If your serious about your golf this is a must have tool.

Poor instructions on how to use the device. Once you understand the quote, "step by step" set up and add in the things that aren't included it works well.

Easy to set up and it works great. On it's own it's not much of a training aid, but is certainly useful in club/shaft selections. It's pretty accurate in my opinion based on sessions I've hit with a Trackman. I use a Swingbyte 2 at the same time to see the swing path and the launch stats at the same time
