I recommend this case, I got the clear case because it’s durable and allows me to be creative on it myself

I ordered the crystal/clear case and am very pleased that I am able to show off the nice gold color of my Macbook, but the case unfortunately came with some scratches on it that made me paranoid at first that I had scratched my brand new Macbook during installation. Being that it's a clear case, these scratches are quite visible. I have yet to hear back from customer service about whether I can get a replacement.>>>HOW TO REMOVE THE CASE<<<So the solution I found to safely remove the case without scratching your laptop or feeling like you're going to snap your screen while prying it off is the following:(1) Close the Macbook shut. Use your fingernails to first lift up the case from the side of the screen just enough to be able to slide a credit card underneath. There are no "lips" on the sides of the case that grip onto the Macbook, so this should be pretty easy to do.(2) Use a credit card (I used a totally flat one that doesn't have raised text on it for the sake of minimizing scratching anything) and slide it into that gap between the case and the Macbook(3) With the card still separating the Macbook from the case, slide the card toward the back of the case and the little plastic lips that grasp onto the Macbook should let go relatively easily. This will allow the entire case to then be removed.The best advice is for you to NOT attempt to take off the case using the front of the case. I found that in this area, if you had securely snapped the case on to begin with, the plastic lips sit so tight on the macbook's edge that it's nearly impossible to remove it with your fingernails.Good luck!

*UPDATED REVIEW* So, I still cannot recommend the CRYSTAL CLEAR HARD PLASTIC smooth finish case I originally received (that you see listed as the product for this review) that i had given one star, as it was super sharp and caused pretty nasty scrapes on my wrist when typing. It's Bottom is raised above edge of the super thin laptop and is rough; so much so that when I ran my finger over the edge to see if there is a sharp spot, it cut my finger. The whole bottom edge is not sanded smooth at all and is super sharp. The top fit, but came loose at times when opening.That being said, MOSISO is a very customer friendly company that I would not hesitate to buy from again or recommend. They immediately responded to my inquiry/complaint to see how they could help. I told them I did not want another hard plastic case, because it was my opinion that it was the nature of the material to be sharp unless it was sanded smooth in the manufacture process, which it isn't. I felt as if the same cover in the rubberized version had a good chance of being smoother and softer and It was. They sent it out to me ASAP. I chose the frost white color which is translucent (a better choice anyway as the clear showed every finger print or smudge), so you can still see the gold (or whatever color you have) macbook underneath an the mirrored Apple on top. The bottom fits snug and is nice and smooth. The top does not fit AS snugly as the bottom, but is certainly fine. It moves a bit when opening but it has only popped off once and it goes back on quite easily. The rubberized surface is also much easier to hang onto, so as not to have it slip out of your hands. This case is great, and if AMAZON allowed for a separate review of the exchanged item (bizarre they don't) I'd have given it 4 or maybe even 5 stars. But, alas, since I'm forced to review the new case along with the one I could never in good conscience recommend, I think AMAZON should allow a new review because the good product is missing what would have probably been 4 or 5 stars from me, and the dangerously sharp product is where these 3 stars will appear. No winners with this policy. But just to reiterate....MOSISO is a great company to deal with if a problem arises and the new rubberized case is perfect for my needs.

This is a good fit and it is easy to take off and put back on. I feel much better about using my macbook with a cover on. I bought the clear which is a hard plastic with a glossy finish. I have read some of the other color descriptions indicate they are rubberized so I might buy another (rubberized) one as a backup.UPDATE 1: I am trying to find out if all the colors are the hard, gloss plastic like the clear. I really wanted a rubberized, frosted cover either in clear or gray. Please comment if the one you received is rubberized and bendable; the clear/crystal case certainly will not bend without breaking as the photo shows. I still love my case, I just want more accurate info before I purchase a second case.UPDATE 2: I contacted the manufacturer because I intended to buy a second cover in a different color and I wanted a better idea of the colors since it was difficult to tell how dark the gray color is (btw-it doesn't seem to be available in gray anymore). I was pleasantly surprised that they sent me a complimentary gray cover and I LOVE it. Here is their explanation for why the clear cover appears different: "all the cases except the "crystal clear" case were applied a coating to prevent scratches on the surface of cases. But the materials are basically the same.". I didn't like the gloss of the clear case and I really didn't want a frosted white cover on my space gray macbook. I LOVE the look of the gray cover on my space gray macbook. The gloss shows smudges but the frosted gray hides a lot. Also, the frosted cover has more 'grip'. Although both have small, rubberized 'feet' the frosted cover is less likely to slip off an inclined surface. I know this review is for the clear cover, I prefer the gray cover; it is a great compliment to the space gray macbook. The photos I posted are of the macbook with the gray cover on.

I have given this review 5 stars because it has protected my MacBook well.I have used this to take my computer to and from university for over a year and the case has scratched a lot, however the Mac is still in perfect condition! It has been an excellent protection for transport.The case has been very durable in a bag with other times such as keys and other objects so I am very glad to have purchased this. The clear case also doesn't take away the colour of my rose gold laptop.

I bought this for my MacBook 12inch and it fits perfectly. If i'm going to be critical, I got the impression that the apple logo will be seen from the back - it doesn't. Also, when i'm resting my wrists on the bottom of the laptop whilst typing, it leaves lines on my wrists from the case which can be really annoying. Plus, my laptop is noticeably a lot heavier now which is a bummer since I loved how light it was before. I'm willing to sacrifice the lightweight aspect of it for a while if it protects my laptop. Those are the only negatives, otherwise, so far so good. It comes with spare grips for the bottom of the case and would defiantly protect it from scratches. Plus, it looks kinda cool with the space grey version.

Very disappointedI always Care about my belongings.I bought this cover for my new Mac.It was all nice and shiny at the beginning but few days after I inserted it,had a crack and a few days later after not even using it,came apart.(I must say that I put it on with no difficulties at all and seemed the right size at the beginning)This is not acceptable at all...

A great shell case for my MacBook. Fits well, looks good. I bought it just to protect my MB from scratches from daily use - it does that. The black looks really good with my gold MB. It's not quite as dark as I'd like - it's more like a really dark grey as it's slightly transparent - but it still looks good enough. If you have a MB with a backlit Apple symbol, that would show through no probs. I can still see the Apple symbol on mine even though it's not backlit. I'm pleased with this cover and although I thought it was a bit pricey, it's still half what the well known brands cost from major retail stores.

I've bought many of these hard shells from this company for various MacBooks and sizes, as always they come through on quality. Slim line and good quality, only problem I have with it is (and its small) I order the black shells but them come with white rubber feet? They do give a spare set but black feet would make much more sense. Also the rubber coating doesn't ware well, a matte plastic (not rubber) finish would be better I think
