A great guide to self-publishing on Create Space
A great guide to self-publishing a paperback using Create Space. I've read a lot of books like these--guides to various aspects of self-publishing and this is a particularly good one. It is well-organized, straightforward, and chock full of information. Having used Create Space to self-publish I found this to be a book a succinct description of the process and how best to prepare your manuscript for publication. Not just the interior, but the cover, front matter, and supporting material. There are a lot of other tidbits in this book that are really very useful to any author interested in creating a print edition of a book. I learned a lot reading the book and would recommend it to anyone interested in using Create Space as a cost free/low cost strategy for self-publishing. As the author points out, once the print edition is available in Create Space it's a fairly simple process to produce the Kindle ebook edition. A recommended read.

bad editing job
The book has some useful tips, but their are lot of grammar mistakes. Someone doing this kind of book should not have grammar mistakes. The formatting section has some problems with vague wording.

Encouraging Book and Information to Self Publish
This book got me to finally self publish. I had written previous books with a publisher but wanted to try to do it myself. Buying and reading this book gave me the information and permission to give it a try. Rick Smith's book was easy to follow and got me thinking and planning about things my publisher had done for me in the past, such as author bio, importance of subtitle, keywords, etc. I still had to get outside consultant/graphic help in order to publish with Create Space, but that was not a reflection on Rick's book or information, but the formatting limitation of Create Space.

Good information on publishing with CreateSpace
I have not published a book yet so my opinion is based more on the clarity of the information and the thoroughness of the descriptions. When I am ready to publish I will have this book open on my iPad next to me as I go through all the steps. After reading this book I have a lot more confidence in self publishing and CreateSpace.

CreateSpace here I come!!
Wow....just the book I needed!! As a self-published kindle author, I'm always looking for new ways to market and sell my books. I've been meaning to turn some of my books into paperback using CreateSpace for a while now, but have just put it off because I didn't quite know the process and thought it might be pretty complicated. This book has laid the whole procedure out in an 'easy to follow' format. I now feel confident about starting the process of publishing with CreateSpace. Thanks to the author for writing such a great guide!

The new publishing guru
I love this author, Rick Smith. He writes clear and concise guides to self publishing that are not only informative but also up to date. This is the third book I have read in his awesome self publishing series and I would highly recommend it to any aspiring author. In this book, his latest release he tackles the paperback, something a lot of people have dismissed over the last few years but is still a massive part of the publishing world. Great, clear and concise advice that will help you get you book on the shelves painlessly.

Constant Companion
I've just published my first novel on Amazon's CreateSpace and this would not have happened if I hadn't come across Rick Smith's Self Publishing Masterclass. The bones of the novel (and of another one) had been kicking around for ten years but I was never really convinced of the possibility of them ever being published and so lacked the motivation to get on with it. Rick's book alerted me to the existence of CreateSpace and the fact that you don't need a book deal with a publisher to get into print. With a clear step by step guide, engagingly written and easy to follow, it laid out the CreateSpace process, demystifying the whole thing and taking out all the 'If I click on that am I going to trash the whole thing?' scary business of using an unfamiliar platform. As well as how to use CreateSpace the book also gives useful advice on the writing itself - at least in terms of remaining productive and the vital importance of editing - and on how to market your book.As I geared up to being reasy to publish this book was my constant companion. As I went through the process there was nothing I was not expecting or didn't know what to do with.I highly recommend this book and as Rick Smith says, there is nothing like the feeling of holding in your hand the printed copy of your own book.

Brilliant book for anyone wanting to self publish on Amazon's Create Space.
Brilliant book for anyone wanting to self publish on Amazon's Create Space. Easy to understand sections that don't bog you down in jargon. I bought this because someone who is not too computer savvy, but who has written a great book and would like to see it in print wants me to help with the process. At first I thought 'Oh good grief, I can't do that!' but having read this book and even opened an account on Create Space, I feel ready to take on the challenge. A WORD OF ADVICE, this is a first edition and you'd be better off shelling out a couple of pounds more to get the updated second edition. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow it for free on Kindle Prime and it has some new useful information. I also purchased #1.99 book by Chris McMullen which is v. good but it is more geared up for the USA market.

Full of non-stop useful information
Rick Smith is absolutely brilliant. Every single page he writes is full of useful information, and his books are so easy and enjoyable to read. "How to Publish your Paperback" is no exception. I am now retired from full-time work and was looking for something to do that I could really get my teeth into. I thought about having a go at writing fiction, but wasn't sure. I had no idea what would be involved. But having read all of Rick's books I just can't wait to start. Ideas are coming thick and fast. He takes the reader completely through the whole process from beginning to end. This is a must-read for any budding author and without it, I'd still be wondering whether to have a go or not!

The only guide you'll need
Although I had published my book on Kindle some years ago, I had always wanted to see it in proper book form, so when CreateSpace came along, I was intrigued. I then got hold of this book and realised that with no outlay - other than my time - I could see my dream come to fruition. The step by step guidance is extremely good and answered all my questions. I heartily recommend it.
