This has given our two-year old granddaughter the confidence to learn how to swim. We had to add a between legs strap to keep the floaters from riding up when she jumps into the pool. This item is better than arm floaters or vests because it keeps the child at the correct angle for swimming and allows full use of arms.

I was swimming at the YMCA when a lifeguard noticed how well my two-and-a-half-year-old was swimming with her puddle jumper on. This is what he recommended and let me tell you, I am so glad I bought this! He called this a swim trainer, you remove one floatation block at a time until they are swimming on their own. Unlike a puddle jumper, this allows their arms to be free and actually learn a paddling motion. I never let her swim freely in the pool with this on without me closely by for safety reasons. But I do like the fact we've gone from 4 stacked blocks to 2 in a matter of weeks (less buoyancy). So she's slowly getting a feel on how to swim. I had no idea this device was the stage between puddle jumper and swimming until the lifeguard suggested it. Love it! I know at least a handful of Mom's who have bought this since asking what it was at the pool.

My son is 2. He had a different floaty since he was little. We went to the YMCA and they had these. The swim trainer said to try it and he did great. I purchased this the next day. He has gotten so much better. We already took one foam pad off. This is a must buy for new swimmers.

Great for pool

Slightly less buoyant than the puddle jumper when using all the floats. My 3 year old definitely has to tread water to keep himself above the water (versus puddle jumper that just lets him float). He needs extra careful supervision since he gets tired easily, but it's a great next step to teaching him to actually swim. The ability to move his arms without restriction also has him naturally using his arms and legs together a lot more. Thanks!

This simple tool helps with all levels. You start with 4 floatable back tabs. Decreasing by one as the toddler get more experienced providing less support and more control on the toddler. With this helpful tool, you can throw away the swimmies and help your child feel safe and learn how to swim just like training wheels on a bike.
