Sturdy, solid, heavyweight
This carpenter's chest is a replacement for my 50 year old Craftsman. The Stanley box is as heavily constructed (and slightly larger) than the box it is replacing. My only complaint is the lugs for a padlock are two overlapping pieces of metal that stick out from the lid and the body of the chest. They're perfectly placed to catch on random bits of clothing and flesh. Overall it's a perfect replacement for my old Craftsman.

Sturdy Tool Box
I needed a rugged metal case for an old Kango 900 jackhammer I refurbished recently, and this did the job. Being strong enough to carry multiple points, chisels, and the breaker, this will definitely stand up to housing your carpentry tools.

Perfect Fit!
I wanted a better container for my small hydraulic jack for my car than the grey plastic tote I was using previously. My jack required 26"x11"x8". The Stanley Proto was the perfect sized container allowing for the jack, and the two jack stands that came with the jack. It even allowed for the tool tray to fit inside with it, which is where I plan to put the tow hitch ball accessory for my tow hitch.

Heavy duty Judy
Tools in my truck. Very heavy. Too expensive for a metal box.

Good quality
Nice box but does not have the hole that some carpenter's boxes have.

They still make them like they used too!
Sturdy and old school. Very pleased with the product and the price.

Dented
I dislike that I ordered a tool box and it was dented so I had to send it back.I got the replacement and it was dented also on the bottom front corner at almost the same exact spot. At least it should sit flat now I hope.I am gonna keep it because I need the box now and I am tired of dealing with this.I love the tool box beside that…

Like the original
I was lucky enough to have one of the original Stanley 36 inch metal carpenters toolbox from the 60’s which was passed down to me from my Dad, then I tacked on another 20 years then some suckers stole it. Even though I made out ok on insurance claim check for the tools, I was bummed I could not replace this relic. I bought various new options and returned all of them. Then I found the Proto. I was shocked how close to the original it was. It used to have three latches, now it has two latches and an eye for lock which is an improvement. The steel is slightly lighter but I guessing it’s at least as strong as the old one. Nice job and thanks!
