These cables are harder to come by these days. I have no complaints with this one.

Made my old modem work again

I needed a null modem cable for a particular application and I believe I tested the relevant pins but I couldn't get it working. In the end, I made my own which did work as expected. I'm not sure if this cable is defective or if it uses some standard(s) outside of my use case. The RX ad TX pins are swapped between one end and the other, however. Very strange.

Great Price and quality built. Got it overnight for an urgent matter and worked perfectly. It is a cable indeed.

It is a cable and it works. One thing to note, if you are using this for a powered device via the serial cable it won't work. Didn't realize this so in the end I did not use the cable. But it did work, just not as a power supply cable.

私のところに届いたケーブルはクロスでした。（販売：StarTech.com Japan KK、出荷：Amazon） RXD/TXD (p.2, 3)、DTR/DSR (p.4, 6)、RTS/CTS (p.7, 8)がそれぞれクロスしています。p.1 (DCD)、p.9 (RI)はオスメスどちらも無接続でした。 SG(p5)、FG(コネクタ外形)はそれぞれオスメス対抗に接続されています。SGとFGの間は接続されていません。 わたしの場合はハードウェアによるフロー制御をしない設定で使いましたので問題ありませんでした。 クロスケーブルの接続はいくつか種類がありますので、この配線で使えるかどうか検討の上で購入されるとよいと思います。なお、上記のようにp.1, p.9は接続されていませんのでケーブル自体は7芯＋シールドである可能性があります。ケーブルを切断・再接続して希望のケーブルを作ろうと考えている方はこの点も勘案されるとよいと思います。

These cables are perfect, typical quality product that you always get with Startech Tested in an industrial application, will use again... and at 2.49 each a bargain. Note to the readers, these are NULL Modem cables thus pins 2 & 3 are crossed I guess the reviewer that said it doesnt work needed a "standard" serial cable
