The dimensions are wrong in the description
Then have the measurements wrong on this model. The flight deck is 21 3/4” L x 5 5/8 at it’s widest point. The hull is 21” L x 4 5/8 at it’s widest point.

2 piece hull !! YUK, it's a nightmare!!
The kit is an odd scale 1/600. Most modern ship kits are either 1/700 or 1/350. Some of the older kits were 720, , 540, 480, 200 etc. etcThis kit is very nicely detailed, but expensive and quite large. I wish they had made it in 1/700. The 2 piece hull is the deal breaker for me. It sucks! Period. It could have been made as 1 piece, the deck is 1 piece!The front 6 inches of the hull is a separate piece. It's a real pain to assemble, the edges don't exactly line up smoothly. One side sat a bit high, the other a bit low. I skimmed one side and sanded the heck out of the other to get the sides of the hull as close to flush as possible. Then I filled the gap with tiny pieces of sprue melted in Testors liquid cement. It took 4-5 days to harden enough to carve off the excess, then sand it relatively smooth with a hard 400 stick. It is a bit difficult as there are details close to the seam, I had to remove the 2 closest windows, otherwise there's no room to blend in the seam.Also, the details on the deck are way to heavy. The flight lines and catapult lines are much too high above the deck surface, no amount of paint is going to compensate. Too bad too because it has tie downs all over the deck ( which is nice), but much of that will be destroyed when you sand down the too heavy details on the entire deck !!!!Then I applied 6-8 coats of Urethane Primer (Vallejo) letting it dry well between applications, then let it dry for about a week. I then carefully sanded and blended the seam with 600 & 800 sanding sticks. The primer filled any imperfections and the edges feathered well.It seems to look good at this stage, but any funkiness will certainly show when the paint coat is applied.I have packed it back in the box and put it away for a later project. I'm still hoping the Dragon (Cyber Hobby) 1/700 kit will eventually come out. I had pre ordered it last year, waited and waited. Finally called Dragon USA and they said they didn't know when the kit would come out if ever! It was supposed to be released in April 2017 !! So I got a refund and bought this one.The Academy kit is supposed to be a new tooled kit released in 2019. It does have nice detail, but what possessed them to make the hull in 2 pieces is beyond me. If I had known that beforehand I would not have bought it.!!!!
