Not red as described, definitely pink!
The journal I purchased was supposed to be red and when it arrived for my son, he was extremely disappointed to find that it was more pink, not red. Unfortunately for him, he can't wait the time it takes to return it and get another color, he is in need of it now, for personal reasons as he goes through therapy. Very disappointed.

Red is not red, it's more pink - and lock broke first day
My 10 yo son was excited to receive his first diary / journal. First thing we noticed is it is not a true red (more pink) and does not match the product picture. He set the 3 digit code. It worked a few times and then - same day - would not open even with the right combo. I had to force it open with a screwdriver. I ordered a blue one as well for my 7 yo but for some reason, that one is delayed. I will like to see how the color and lock are on the blue one. I will be exchanging the red one and hope the replacement has a working lock.

Poor customer service.
I bought one and the lock stopped working the first day. I emailed the company and never heard back. I wouldn't recommend buying this product. Customer service/satisfaction is horrible. This company doesn't care about its customers.

Good for a cash envelope system wallet.
I used this Diary as a wallet, everything works very well. The latch took a minute to understand, but works well afterwards. I will say, trying to find 3 numbers to remember is a bit harder than the 4 I am used to. Pockets seem to be in good shape, hopefully will stand to the test of time. Only downside is that it doesn't feel very leather-y more like dollar store vinyl.
