ORGANIX Grain Free Organic Chicken Recipe Wet Cat Food

After MORE than 2 months of 2 bouts of heat, 1 UTI infection & treatment, my little kitty was almost skin & bones & her appetite has finally returned in full swing. Yesterday morning & this morning I left early & she didn't have too much to eat & when I returned very late that afternoon--a bit later than usual, I opened up this large can, emptied far more than a 3.2 can amount in her dish & left only a little for next morning--only what was left around the inside of the rim. She LICKED HER PLATE CLEAN BOTH TIMES!!! This is life-saving nutrition & moisture & I was SO amazed as she was getting so skinny & boney & I feared she went below 8 lbs, & I was getting really worried. This kitty is so tiny & boney now I can easily pick her up with one hand with no strain at all--yet she gobbled up such an enormous amount for her tiny tummy! It must be delicious! No more dry food! I took her off dry food cold turkey & I was so happy with the results last night! I saved the rest for this morning & she ate almost all of the little that was left. You can save this in a covered container & it will remain just as good as the night before. You can't do this with most commercial cat foods, but with just a few of the better foods, you can save it for next day--that means it is human quality. She goes good pee pees & I am finally relieved!ABSOLUTELY FREE OF ALL harmful GUMS! I wanted to mention this very important finding! All harmful gums are not used! NO Xanthan gum, NO Carrageenan, NO Guar gum! This is very important! In fact NO gums are used in this recipe.When you first open this can, it doesn't have a very distinct aroma, but once you mix the contents in your cat's dish, the very distinct aroma of rotisserie chicken comes out & on Thanksgiving I was wondering where the smell of rotisserie chicken was coming from??!!!--certainly not my place (I eat totally vegan!)--Was it coming from down the hall & seeping in thru the crack in the door or was it coming thru the vent from upstairs? Oh! it was coming from my kitty's dish! This is a PEOPLE PLEASER! The contents of this Turkey/chicken mix is fluffy & moist & it is extremely fresh, and (& unlike most cheaper but very good commercial brands) you can divide this one larger can into two portions & save the rest in a covered container in the frig for next time/next day & the freshness & aroma remain the same! This is certainly a plus for me because this is expensive & this is one quality I am looking for. I am not aware of the cooking process & unable to give an opinion on this point, & I understand there are carbs & chicken liver, but it certainly contains less toxins because it is organic & the Plus side is that it is so good quality, it can be saved correctly in the frig for next time or next day.Edit Dec 15, 2015: Success story continues!!! My little kitty has gone from bone thin to now gaining weight & is already just about normal. She continues to eat this with gusto. Last night once again she almost ate the entire can! I took away the last tiny amount on her plate which she left anyway because I gave her a bit more than the last times. I was afraid her tummy wouldn't handle it even if she eats a little at a time. (this morning she only ate just a tiny bit since she ate almost too much last night. (I froze & will give to the tiny bit left to the raccoons.)NO CARRAGEENAN! AND without the toxic supplement Menadione Sodium Bisulfite (source of Vitamin K)--(The Material Safety Data sheet on Menadione-sodium bisulfite states: “The substance is toxic.") AND this doesn't seem to have ANY of the gums that may be harmful to cats! AND no added "oceanfish" which usually means Mackerel & high in mercury! AND no brown rice which is usually high in arsenic too! I am totally pleased & I will continue to purchase!Read this! Careful... We love the organic, natural ingredients that are hard to find in cat foods.......and the cats love the flavor. Perfect combo for us and our 5 kitties!

Our cats love this wet food. Any time I open a can they come running. We have been ordering this brand for a few years and never had any issues.

I've been feeding this to my cats for a couple of months now and I'm liking it - the quality and consistency of it seems to be great.I started feeding this to my cats after one of them started to have urinary tract problems. What I like about this food is that it's not advertised for urinary tract health or low ash but works for URINARY TRACT HEALTH and is LOW ASH!I've been searching for all the pet food brands that are low ash because my cat is only supposed to be eating low ash foods now. Most mainstream pet products are not low in ash and the medical "prescription" foods vets prescribe are too expensive and have fillers like Corn By-Products and are not Grain-Free (which I can not imagine is all too healthy).Anyway, this food is low in ash (and is one of the lowest foods in ash I have found) and is also organic which is a plus!Some people are concerned and have been reporting that this food has been bought by Merrick foods. I have not seen any significant changes in the food but will be keeping an eye out.

Update 04/10/2019Amazon has been shipping this food to me with no significant damage to the cans for over two years now. I've removed my photos of the damaged cans. Please read the rest of my review, and make sure you are transitioning your cat correctly.Update 10/15/2016Amazon has finally changed their packaging and shipping methods. I would like to think that my constant complaining had something to do with it. :-)I have included a photo of the new packaging. The cans are no longer stacked 3x4-2 high, they are now stacked 2x4-3 high. This gives a more condensed and sturdy package. I have had no further troubles with crushed cans since this packaging update. I am leaving the old pictures of the crushed cans just for reference.Original:This is one of the best cat foods out there, and as others have stated, it doesn't contain carageenan which is not good for your pets. (nor for you for that matter.) However, if you purchase this from Amazon, be aware that they do not package this very well. 90% of the times I've ordered this, I've had to request a credit for damaged cans. It always comes in a box that's slightly too big, with a few packaging air bags that have no air in them. Every time. Also be careful if ordering other items. Last time they tossed a paperback book in with 2 cases. The book was folded in half by the time it got to me. So, order this by itself, and don't be afraid to complain about the damaged cans, at least Amazon Customer Service is awesome. I give it five stars because I'm rating the product, not the service. My two cats love it, and they seemed noticeably healthier after we made the switch.I've noticed a lot of people saying their cat hated it, or wouldn't even go near it. Keep in mind that if you are trying a new food, you usually have to transition your cat. Start by giving them 75% old food, 25% new food. After several days, change it to 50/50. It should take a couple of weeks to switch them over completely. One of our cats will eat anything, the other one (who loves to eat by the way) always has to be transitioned this way.

I’ve used this cat food for years and my cats do great with it and my one cat will be 20 this year!The packaging changed (Jan 2024) and almost all the cans were dented. No problem when one is buying cheap cat food but not acceptable at over $2.00 per can.

My cat liked this food well enough, but I was already hesitant because of the price, and shocked when I was asked to pay another $30 in custom fees when it finally arrived at my door after over a month. Not impressed. Not worth the cost.
