How to Be the Perfect Housewife: Lessons in the Art of Modern Household Management

I enjoyed this book as I'm always looking for tips, tricks, etc about being a retro wife. Most of it I already knew though and there wasn't really anything partaining to kids because hey I have a bunch of kids here. Lol but it was an easy fast read. I didn't keep it and didn't really find any memorable tips but I did enjoy it.

I really liked Anthea Turner's show on BBC America years ago and was expecting her book to be more of the same. I think a buyer would be better served purchasing Martha Stewart material.

A fun read.

I love this book. I don't understand why its missing pictures, its such a shame because they would help the motivation levels. But otherwise this is my domestic bible, the content is awesome. It has tips on everything from organising and cleaning room by room, to planning a Christmas that all the family will be amazed by.

I didn't know how to clean and get organized and this book was a big help and fun.

Great book. Waited a couple of weeks to receive it, but worth it. If you're looking for better ways to manage your home, this is the book to read.

I bought this book having seen the series - sections easy to reference which is useful.Book filled with useful information, great for new home maker and long term no domestic people alike!Complements the TV series nicely and emphasises having a life rather than being ruled by the house . It is not patronising and is very helpful including tips on stain removal, ironing, organising paperwork etc. This book is an inspiration. Nice photographs would have been useful and so I do agree with other reviews on this point.One word of caution - I would just be careful about the Kindle edition as the sample that I downloaded only had the Entertainment section, and this appears to be the only content of the Kindle book, hence the different title. I am glad that I chose the paperback version instead.

Fantastic book. If you want your home squeaky clean this is the book to get.Anthea has so many brilliant ideas. Also at no extra expense of buying shop cleaning products.She has amazing ideas of her own on how to keep your home clean and smelling great. Definetly recommend buying this book.I bought this as a present for my friend as I already had one. I cannot believe how cheap it is as well. Great value.

I ordered this for my mam who has wanted this book for years. I got my own copy years ago. She absolutely loves it. Anthea has been doing this a lot longer than mrs hinch and I feel it’s time she made a revival as she uses a lot less products and therefore plastic than mrs hinch does

Don't be put off by the title as not a matriarch book. But more sympathetic & helpful way to get you organised, easy to follow tips . I picked this up before in the library, & decided to buy it. Glad I got it.

I thought there would be more tips & hints from the original tv series, so was disappointed & have now donated the book to a local charity shop.
