I have no affiliation with the autopot company and operate several different types of hydro. system as a hobbyist. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but if you want to try hydroponics an autopot system should be on the list of your options to consider. There are cheaper ways to go which can work really well but without exception they all require electricity, make some noise and none are as efficient as an autopot when it comes to the use of nutrient and water. Uniquely the autopot systems use gravity to bring the nutrient to the bottom of the pot and capillary action in the growth media to deliver it up the pot to the plant's roots. A deceptively simple valve at the bottom of the pot makes sure the nutrient+water mix is only delivered to the plant and doesn't overflow to run across your floor / balcony / driveway or lawn. If it rains and the pots are outside you will see some overflow but hey, its rained, everything's already wet. Operating one of these systems in the yard requires little space and no electricity. Depending on the size of the water storage container you attach it to you can have continuous watering for days or even a few weeks without oversight. Fed up of your tomatoes splitting? Using an autopot can fix that.If you have limited options for location and noise would be an issue autopots are compact and silent. Place a couple with their feed reservoir in a closet with a LED grow light and you have a setup that won't break the bank or keep you up at night.Plants which require their roots to dry out between waterings will likely not do well in an autopot. Think cacti and citrus. Those loving damp roots fluorish. Think peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and most leafy vegetables. This particular autopot system provides 6 pots and a 12 gallon reservoir. If you want to grow peppers or tomatoes the version of it providing 3.9 gallon pots is the better option for those crops and can simultaneously provide enough peppers and tomatoes for a family of 4 (3 pots for the tomatoes, 3 pots for the peppers). For a low maintenance entry into effective hydroponics this is one of the better options IMHO.Finally unlike some of the other options this one can be expanded to a near unlimited number of pots using standard irrigation tubing, and rain barrels as the water+nutrient reservoirs. What you buy today will still be useful when you decide to upgrade to the 100 grow site system you've been dreaming of.

Easy to use. Perfect design.
The design was amazing. Easy to assemble. Plants feed themselves. Use to do 6plants by hand and now just one tank and watch them explode. This didn’t come with airdromes. But there’s enough room I drilled a whole in the hood of valve lid (black lid) and stuck in air hoses bibles nice and don’t have to deal with cleaning those domes from the roots. All in all great. Plants seem to be loving it, even though they were transplanted before flower.
