Scalemaster 15mm Electrolytic Gold in-line Limescale Inhibitor 401041 Compression Connections

Replaced 10 year old compression fitting Scalemaster Electrolytic . Easy to install.

The Scalemaster did exactly what is was supposed to do and was very easy to install.I didn't need this to do the CWS [Cold Water System] to the whole house but specifically to protect our Boiler and comply with our particular warranty / insurance requirements.Can recommend it since it took little space and was straightforward to install [took me about 15 minutes].

Time will tell how effective it is as I installed it at the same time as a new electric shower, leaks a little despite using plenty of ptfe tape and compound.

Easy to install, one can only presume it does the job as stated.

Replaced an existing one of these, not 100% sure if they do anything, as i still get lime scale around taps & in my kettle.Wished these things could be tested under laboratory conditions and the results published.I cut the old one open to see what was inside, see the attached photos.I guess I can't help thinking if these things can remove lime scale that easily the water authority would have introduced them into their pipework years ago.

I still have lime scale in my water - so therefore very difficult to quantify if there has been any improvement. The device was easy to fit & no leaks were experienced but it's lime scale inhibiting properties is questionable in my opinion.
