I love these locks! Just bought some of these double cylinder locks for our outer doors and they are not only attractive and sturdy but also bring us a greater sense of security. We bought these since we have glass windows next to the doors, thus if someone were to break the glass they would have a much harder time unlocking the door with a double cylinder lock than with a single cylinder with a turn lock on the inside. We especially love th smart rekey technology!! Thanks kwikset!

This is an excellent lock. I like that you can re-key the lock using the tool provided to any house/deadbolt type key you want, which eliminates the need for a locksmith. However, there are two keys provided with this deadbolt and I'm using the ones provided for now. The deadbolt installation instuctions were easy to understand. It didn't take me long to install, since I was replacing an old deadbolt that broke. Thus, I didn't have to do any drilling of new holes in the door and frame. I think the Venetian Bronze color is really expensive looking without the high price tag. It was a great price in comparison to purchasing it from other places (i.e., home improvement stores, on-line, etc.). I would recommend this lock to anyone!

These deadbolts are solid quality and re-keyable for Kwikset key blanks. I needed them for entry doors with a window. They were delivered very quickly, securely packaged and at a fair price. Thanks!

The knob and deadbolt match perfectly and installed in a pre-bored door without a hitch. I was having difficulty finding a knob and deadbolt locally that were the finish I liked, especially a double-cylinder deadbolt -very poor selection of a double available at the big box stores. I really appreciate that they both featured the Smart-Key technology - what an improvement over trying to find someone at the store who could or had time to do the re-keying. It's not the most intuitive process, especially on the deadbolt - I would start with the entry lock first to become familiar. I was successful with the entry lock and the interior of the deadbolt, but I did something wrong with the exterior lock on the deadbolt and found myself with no working key. I called KwikSet and after trying several things, they offered to send out a new cylinder and key. I found a few tutorials on-line that walked through resetting a dead cylinder and after 2 tried, had it reset and the key I wanted to use working in it - not necessarily a process I would recommend but nonetheless a useful one if something goes wrong. I had KwikSet locks on all my other doors so this was a big plus in selecting KwikSet. Operational-wise, they are both very smooth.

I replaced our old lock on our gate to this one for additional security and for ease of re-keying as needed with the SmartKey system. The double cylinder is great, allowing us to key the inside gate with our house key and the outside gate with a separate key for the gardener to use to access the backyard. If the key is every lost by the gardener or we change gardeners we can easily re-key it and feel that our backyard remains secure. So far its been working great for our needs. No complaints and install/re-keying was very easy.

We love Kwikset products and have installed these throughout the house. This unit was purchased to replace an older deadbolt. I love the convenience of being able to rekey all of my doors/locks within minutes. That is a price that pays for itself! This deadbolt is very well constructed. It is held together by two long lag bolts that you can get to from the inside side of the door. I absolutely love this product and highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a replacement locks for their doors.

No problems with installation whatsoever, contrary to some dot com reviews whereby a few people reported difficulties. The riskiest part of the installation is putting back the indoor face plate with the security screws. I applied the plate, with the regular screws through the holes, to ensure the plate lined up properly and that the screws would go in all the way. Then removed the normal screws and replaced with the security ones. If your security screws get stuck in any way before they are all the way in, use pliers to extract.I've used Kwikset/Weiser deadbolts before and have never had the lock's internals lose the SmartKey's info (ie: "auto-rekey"), which is another problem reported by some. Will come back and severely reduce my 5 star rating if that ever happens to me.

After searching all my local big box hardware outlets and not finding a double cylinder lock in them I checked Amazon.This is the easiest lock I ever installed it was to replace my existing single cylinder lock took me twenty minutes. The smart key system worked great was able to use my old key works smooth as silk :)

Good looking, nice smartkey feature and pretty smooth lock/unlock action.

Has 'real' double cylinder functionality. Inside key does not get held captive when locked.
