Carver Surfboard Bike Rack - Longboard
This surfrack is well designed for installation on multiple bike configurations. The "U" carrying "poles" also easily turn sideways when not carrying a board, which is well thought out (don't want to have to keep taking off and putting on the surfrack). the rack is also nice and light. Works fine on my "hybrid bike" with both short and long boards.Caution: I don't recommended removing the "U" carrying poles when not in use because one may (I did) accidentally brush across the exposed "pole" and scrape oneself. All in all a great and well designed product.

Works great and easy to install
Works great and easy to install. Attach a milk crate to hold your stuff and you're off to catch some waves! Daughter uses it for short board, 8 ft fun board and longboard skateboard

Solid Rack
Don't judge the picture, waves were flat and the rack is a great chair transporter. The Carver rack is sold. It was a bit tricky to install, but doable. It was just a little hard with the space for some of the nuts and bolts. So I love the back rack with the surfboard rack. It is the best rack I have had. Great for shortboards, but also totally solid for foam and longboards. I bought a Core rack first (a little cheaper). It attached to the seat post only. It broke right after installation at the seat post. I returned and tried again and it broke a second time (I had to limp home). So, I bit the bullet and went with the more expensive option and I am glad I did. I would recommend the longboard rack (even though I mostly use it for shortboard.

Unstable for 9'6" Board
1. Poor DirectionsThe Directions are very poor, it was required to remove the rear bike wheel to fit the nuts on the screws. There is no illustration or schematic describing how to install, e.g. Only 12 font text.2. Unstable-Missing Element in DesignThe cause of the instability for a long board is for two reasons--mount: should mount to seat post and rear rack,-hence there should be two mounts for long boards.3. Work AroundI designed a work around that includes a PVC pipe from the seat post to the bike rack-clamped down with duck tape.

Nice Rack !
Been using the Carver Racks for a few years. They work well with 6'4" shortboards and my heavy 9'9" longboard. The racks carry the board well off to the side and don't interfere with the normal operation of the bike. I've modified my racks with some extra foam padding, so the board sits more snugly in the U-bars. Periodically, the racks will require re-adjustment, but this is easily done with an allen wrench. Overall, a well conceived and executed product.
