Square stand receipt printer to cash drawer cord
We use this to connect our cash register to the receipt printer. This allows it to respond properly with our Square stand. If you are a mobile business, this cord will end up snapping at some point due to wear and tear so you may want to buy 2. The little head is very small and fragile. If you are a stationary business you won't need to worry about it.

Works great. You can save your money and get a regular 2 wire phone cord (which is what we did at first) and attach it to a regular ethernet cord. There are schematics online that show you which 2 wires in the ethernet cord are the drawer open signal. Or you can just use a little trial and error and try every pair till it works.

Not a CD-014A Cable
This was not the cable pictured here. The cable I was sent was a grey RJ11 (phone cable) style head on both ends. In order to use the cash drawer with the printer you need one end to have the RJ11 style connector and the other to have a RJ45 style connector. I had to clip off one end, find a CD-014A wiring diagram online, and crimp down a CAT5 connector. It works now, but unless you know how to terminate CAT5 cables, I would order from a different source.

Works as expected
Works with the square card reader. You will need a receipt printer and it works wonderfully. Easily 2 minute installation from the printer to the register and the drawer will open smoothly. If you cannot find a cash drawer with a USB port this cable works very well.

Works fine, but as with all exposed cable clips, they are easy to break.
The cable works fine, but I have to disconnect and move the printer and drawer everyday, which means the little clips are very easy to break. This needs to use 'snagless' covers on the end clips and it would be 5 stars.

Four Stars
cable works. Nothing too complicated.

It works
What can I say--it works well, seems to be made of the same grade cable as standard CAT5, and the clips look to be pretty decent. It has been running my cash register for months now--no problems.

It's a cable for connecting the receipt printer to the cash register
What can I say bar that this is the cable you will need if you're planning to do the Square setup with the Star Micronics printer and the APG drawer? It essentially looks like an RJ-45 to Ethernet cable. The length is about 3 feet, so you can't put the receipt printer too far away from the register, but that shouldn't be a problem.
