Very good read for children experiencing loss however.....
This is a good book, simple way to help children work through the loss of a loved one. The pictures are beautiful and the text is simple enough my children age 4, 7 and 9 could follow. I am disappointed that it mentions heaven a couple times and upon reading the description in choosing the book there are no remarks that make you believe this would have religion in it. I would urge amazon to make sure and be more transparent when it comes to religion in these types of books.

Very Helpful
Excellent book for a grieving child. Bought for my 5 year old after her father died unexpectedly, she said it helped her understand more about death.

I’m very happy I found this.
A very touching, emotional book that even made me tear up. I read it to my daughters after I suffered a miscarriage and a stillborn baby boy and I think it was wonderful. Our family is a big fan of dragons in general so this book was a perfect fit.

My husband was killed in a workplace accident this was the best grief book for our kids.
I purchased a lot of grief book for kids for our 3 and 5 year olds when my husband after my 37 year old husband was killed at work and this is by far the best. It's the only one so far that I have felt dealt with actually going through grief and all the feelings that come along with that. It us truly moving and deals with the feeling of anger, sadness denial etc but does so in an easy to understand way. I wasn't;t sure how much my 5 year old took in from the book but two weeks after reading it he asked to take it to school for book day. I cannot recommend this book enough. I've even read it just me and cried myself.

Great book but heavy contents
This book is a bit heavy for a 4 year old (our son physically cried). Only good if your child has recently lost a loved one (at 4 years)

Nicely written.
This book covers a number of examples of situations that can cause sadness. My grandson recently lost his mother unexpectedly ( my daughter) and he read this to himself. It seemed to help him deal with his sadness.

Brilliant!
Absolutely amazing little book.Perfect length to read as a bedtime story. Our 8year old who lost a cousin to childhood cancer has been struggling recently with it being what would of been his birthday.I got the book to talk in hope it would allow her to talk about her feelings without it being a catastrophic meltdown everytime. It was amazing...its written in rhyme so she was instantly at ease listening to it.On the pages referencing how you can remember those you've lost; it enabled me to draw parallels and make reference to her cousin and for her to listen and take it in and not blow up get angry or sad.She was so happy with it she took it to school to show her teachers.A brilliant way to get her talking about a subject she clearly isnt able to express her feelings on properly yet.I'm going to look at related books and see if we can read some of those to curb a few other topics she struggles with.

good book, mention of heaven
This book is overall very good, however I wish I had known that it said they would see the person again in heaven as that is something we want to avoid saying to the kids. For the moment I have kept it and I just change what I say on that page, as the kids are too young to read yet, and the rest of the book is helpful.

Disappointed- more non-inclusive and religious pushes
Was going along great until halfway when religion, and only Christian based concept of heaven was introduced. Off it goes for a return.... Damn! Super disappointed! Thought could redact the 2 lines but it continued. STOP pushing religious 'comforts' into life experiences people! Geesh!
