Send jerks to prison
I have been harassed by a driver in my neighborhood for the last eight months. He pulls out of his driveway almost hitting my car several times, he had tried to hit me head on several times and he has actually stopped in the street blocking me from going around him and getting to my house. A sick jerk. Then this jerk files a police report saying that I was harassing him. My attorney had me to purchase this dash cam and it worked wonderfully. The jerk was arrested and charged with harassment and using his vehicle as a weapon thanks to the video that I gave to the police. This dash cam could save you thousands in legal costs from an accident or from someone with road rage. I will ALWAYS use my 4Sight Dash Cam. It records front and rear at the same time with a split screen. Take the SD card out of the cam and pop it into your PC and watch. It does record all sounds in your vehicle, but you can turn off sound recording in the cam's menu. The sound recording will pickup the sound of your turn signal which might prove in court that you did use your turn signal. But remember, it will record everything you say. Really clear recording enough to capture tag numbers.

Nice Dual-Lens Camera if You Don't Need Spielberg-Quality Video
Okay, let me start by saying this: If stunning video quality is what you're after, then look for a newer-model dash cam with higher resolution. You won't be able to read license plates at much of a distance with this one, if that's what you're after. On the other hand, if you just want a video record of the next idiot who smashes into your car, this unit will suffice and appears to be durable.Let me start with the things I like about this camera:1. Video and audio quality, while not stunning, are acceptable. The camera works in all but completely unlit highway conditions. Basically, if there's some light, you'll be able to see stuff well ahead of you. If not, then you'll be able to see as far as your headlight beam. But if you want to be able to see the pimples on a pedestrian's forehead, then you'll want a high-resolution camera than this one.2. The device appears to be sturdy and durable. Time will tell.3. The suction cup really sucks. I mean in the literal sense. It stays put on the windshield. How refreshing. Of all the things in life that suck, one would think that suction cups would be among them. But alas, many suction cups do not suck at all. This one sucks royally.4. The included software is pretty handy. I suppose it would be even handier if I weren't too cheap to buy the GPS add-on. It has a window that would show my location on a map if I had that accessory, as well as my vehicle's speed (which I guess could be a plus or a minus depending on how you drive). Without the GPS attachment, it just shows that you're in Los Angeles (even if you're not).5. The software runs off the SD card and doesn't need to be installed. It runs fine on Windows 10 Professional. I haven't tested it on anything else. It's automatically written to the card when you format it.Now a few things that I'm not crazy about:1. The power plug uses what appears to be a proprietary design. It looks like a Micro USB, but it is not. A USB cable with that special plug is included (for charging only, not data transfer), but it's only about three feet long. That means that if that cord isn't long enough, you either have to use the included cigarette lighter adapter (bulky) or a USB extension cable (ghetto). It also means to NEVER lose that cable.2. The cameras swivel from side to side, but not up and down. This means that to aim both the front and back cameras so the height is right is a bit of a compromise.3. The camera doesn't automatically flip the video when mounted on the dash with the suction cup on the bottom. The video will be upside-down. The included software does have a function to flip it, but I don't know whether it will flip it in the exported files.4. I would have liked a wider angle on the right-hand camera. I would have liked to be able to see all the occupants of the vehicle plus out the back window. But then again, I would have liked to be born a billionaire. C'est la vie.5. You MUST use the included software to view the video. You can't just open the files using Windows Media Player, etc. You must open them using the software, which is written to the SDHC card during format. You can select and save the files from within the software, however. I suspect that they use some special, robust file format that helps prevent corruption during a crash for the actual video files. There doesn't appear to be a Mac version of the software, by the way. Maybe it's on the "invisible" filesystem. But I wouldn't swear to it. If you only have Macs, then probably you shouldn't buy this camera unless you also have AV inputs that you can use to transfer the video. In the "neither good nor bad" department, I did notice that the G-sensor thought I crashed twice, possibly because of dips in the road. (I mean dips in the actual road, not dips driving vehicles on the road. We have them, too, but those aren't the dips I'm talking about.) In any event, re-adjusting the G-sensor sensitivity to "low" fixed that problem handily.Another thing to be aware of is that this isn't the latest model, and therefore it does have a battery. Newer high-end dash cams have capacitors instead of batteries, which is a good thing because capacitors laugh laconically at heat and cold. Batteries don't. They just... well, they die. So you would be well-advised to take this dash cam inside with you and not leave it in the car on very hot or very cold days to spare the battery a premature and tragic demise. All in all, this isn't a bad camera. For the price, it's actually a pretty good one. I'm satisfied. I want it for evidence in court in case some downstate idiot rear-ends me when I have to brake to avoid a suicidal deer, not to make an epic film about my travels. For what I need, this camera is more than adequate.RichardUPDATE: A few days after I posted this, I noticed that the camera randomly stopped recording after relatively short periods of time, especially in hot weather. I was using a SanDisk 32 GB SD card that seems to work fine for all other uses.I contacted the company's support via their contact form, and less than an hour later they suggested that I try the included 8 GB card. It has worked fine since.I also noticed today that another user had the same problem (and the same resolution), so I'm concluding that this camera has a hard time with 32 GB cards. It works find with the included 8 GB card. I'll probably test it with a 16 GB at some point but haven't gotten around to it yet.YET ANOTHER UPDATE: The camera is still chugging along flawlessly. I also called (or emailed, I forget) tech support again about the SD card. They told me I have to use a NON-UHS card. So I ordered Micro SD Card 32GB Class 6 Memory Card for Smartphone, Camera (2 piece of SD Card) , and the camera likes them just fine.So basically, you have to use a Class 6 to Class 10 memory card, but NOT one that's UHS. This dash cam doesn't work with UHS cards.

Needs Some Work
This is a nice little set up. It records well. My only problem is with the suction cup that attaches it to the windshield....it came loose and fell in such a way that it broke the end of the car charger off where it plugs into the camera. So now I must charge it at home to use on my commutes. The car charger plugs in at a very odd place anyway---under the stem of the suction attachment. This needs some more work....there's got to be a better place to put it. And the suction cup just isn't going to hold up to repeated taking it out of the car and into the house or work everyday...you wouldn't want to leave it in the car for fear of someone breaking out the window to steal it. It would sure be nice if there was an attachment that could be screwed into the dash and the camera just snapped in and out of it. It's very difficult to snap this camera out of the suction attachment....making it impractical to take it in and out that way daily.

Short life-span and the maker says tough noogies.
Revised rating after 15 months of use. Manufacturer told me to throw it away and buy another one.Update: Pretty much as I expected, the one year warranty just passed about 3 months ago and it is starting to act up. It is switching itself to the setup screen without being touched. Accepting the values by pressing the OK button takes you to the record function for one second and it goes back to setup. Not sure if this is related to heat or not. Either way, I had a bad feeling about the life span of this unit and it may have been well-founded. I hope it resolves but nothing has been done to it so I really don't expect much. One year seems like a short warranty period for a product that they know will be in a hot car yet they don't even offer a capacitor model that would be unaffected by the heat. Oh well, hoping for the best... OK, I WAS hoping for the best. I just called the company on 06/15/2016. Told them it was out of warranty by a little bit and asked if they would consider repairing it if I paid for it. No way. She also said the fact that the case is splitting indicates the battery is cooked (although it still works sometimes.) Despite this, they still do not offer a capacitor model that could stand the heat of a car. I asked outright, "So, you buy the camera and expect it to work about a year and then you throw it away. Is that correct?" Her reply was, "Yes, pretty much." I've learned my lesson. They have seen the last dollar of mine they will ever see.

Five Stars
AOK! best by far the best dash came I have used, piano lacquer finish, easy to program don't have to read the book. Once you start pushing bottom all programing is intuitive. Since I don't ;like suction cup bracket, I modified a radar detector rear view mirror bracket.Performance Package Mirror Mount Radar Detector Bracketby Performance Package
