I bought this as a gift for an architect who collects art and crafts around the world and everyone at the party was fascinated too. It was by far the best gift. The quality of the paper is superior and the weight and sheer size of the book is impressive. The extensive and fun content of the book could take a year or more to take in. Lovely book!

In 2006 Phaidon Press published the first comprehensive and authoritative collection of classic design objects - a 3 VOLUME set ... that I recommend. (ISBN 978-0714843995). this book is only one of three of the volumes -- the publisher has given it a new dust cover and name, but nothing else is new. It is beyond my imagination ... why anyone would want just one volume, unless your dog chewed up one of your original three volume set. FORGET this single volume ! BUY the 3 volume set and you'll be MUCH more in the know !
