Great New Product from Twisbi
Twisbi is a relatively new name in the world of pens and pencils. However they have garnered quite a following among fountain pen aficionados*. I own a 0.5 and 0.7 mm silver and black pencil.Pros:Design. I think the pencils are very elegant looking.Make: The body is full metal and hefty (not heavy). I find them to be well balanced. The lead dispenses flawlessly and I didn't ever have any problems with it. The "knurled grip" is not at all shard and feels good to hold. Retractable tip so you can carry it without much trouble. The eraser on this pencil is longer than the generic erasers (but I do not use it so I do not care). Please note that this is not a drafting pencil.Packaging: Though it may not matter to most people, but I really their packaging. They include extra lead and erasers which is great.I cannot really see any cons with this pencil and for its price I highly recommend it.So you may ask, why am I giving it four stars rather than five? Well I have a Rotring 600 (a very well known pencil). While I cannot say that the Rotring is in any way superior to my Twisbis I prefer the writing experience of a Rotring compared to a Twisbi. So I am taking out one point for personal reasons!* I am not familiar with the status of Twisbi among pencil aficionados.

Wow. Instrument is the word to describe this pencil.
I think my title says how I feel about the pencil. It is not just a pencil, but a precision writing "instrument."TWSBI makes a very good pencil. Once you pick it up, you will immediately notice that it is heavy--not overly so--but definitely not a featherweight typical of most pencils but this is a product of a metal body. The pencil feels very good in the hand, with excellent fit and finish--knurling on the front of the section is just right, not too pronounced but sharp enough for one to keep a good grip on the pencil, the black finish is evenly applied, logos are printed clearly, chrome parts are smooth, and the clip has enough tension to hold it in place in a pocket. I bought the sliding sleeve version of the pencil and like the fact that I am far less likely to bend the sleeve and make the pencil inoperable (I have done this to my share of pencils and have a pencil graveyard of those that have been dropped or damaged). Lead advances as it should and can be pushed back inside the pencil after use.The only sore point is the cost. Yes, it is a wonderful, precise pencil but it is not one which I will be replacing all my other pencils with, nor is it one I would take far away from my desk for fear of losing it.So...yes, I like the pencil. It is $25 well spent and I would encourage others to buy a TWSBI pencil especially if one likes to use quality writing "instruments". However, the cost makes turning this into my only pencil a prohibitive exercise.

doesn't work for me
Disappointing. This pencil is substantial and seems well built. However, there are some problems. Some are quantifiable, like taking 50 clicks to get a new stick of lead to advance (who has time for that?) and some problems are subjective: the eraser wobbles, which is annoying to me, and the balance is weird. When I grip the pencil, it feels like it wants to fall out of my hand. The balance, to me, is top heavy. It's like I want to flip the pencil around and write with the eraser end.Like I said, these things are subjective. I also, for example, really don't like the included lead. It's very light and takes a lot of pressure to make a dark line. I remark on this, because though the lead is included, it's part of the price, and not worth it. Also, the eraser tube got stuck in the lead tube, which TWSBI said was my error. Maybe, but I shouldn't need pliers to take the eraser out. I'm 5' tall, hardly a hulking brute.I use pencils a lot in a professional setting (museum galleries) for notes, and draw a good deal. This pencil is sadly not a good tool for me. The balance is weird and the lead is not good. I hope TWSBI lets me return it. (the case is closed on the eraser getting stuck. I still want to return it. I'm not too pleased with their customer service. Take that into consideration before you order from TWSBI)

I am extremely disappointment with the pencil
I had this pencil for over a month now. I am extremely disappointment with the pencil. Which is unfortunate because I really like the design of the pencil. The end of the eraser twists and turns, it is wobbly. It's not that big of a deal. What DOES bother me is that it breaks lead very easily. And no, I am not pressing hard. It is the pencil.I'm not sure why it keeps breaking my lead. I have used various kinds of lead. It seems to be breaking at a specific distance. Maybe its the mechanism, maybe it is the fact that it is retractable. But ya, this thing breaks lead like no other pencil. My cheap plastic Pentel Twist Erase III is more durable and reliable than this. And it only costs me 3 dollars.Maybe If I picked the fixed tip precision twsbi I would have better luck. But I really wanted to love this pencil. I guess I just have to go back to my old fashion Pentel Twist Erase. And I have checked and unscrewed the tip to see if there is anything wrong with the mechanism. It looks fine.-ProsBeautiful, heavy metal designSlim and elegant, 3+ eraser refills.-ConsBreaks all my lead, only had it for a monthEraser/container wobbles.

As perfect a pencil one can find
This pencil is fantastic, I highly recommend it. Clearly very fine engineering went into this statement device. A piece of art that is right on for daily use (in particular due to the retractable tip). Thank you TWSBI for this product, well done indeed.HIGHLIGHTS: solid (has a sturdy weight to it in your hand), retractable tip, long eraser, great balance of form and function.
