Great multi tool
Ive used these for about 6 years now and had zero issues. They’re very well built. The crimper is excellent. My only complaint is I don’t wear a belt and I would love to see this with a pocket clip. They’re light weight and the perfect size.

Favorite
This is my absolute favorite style multi-tool as a maintenance person. The one-handed operation is great! I have owned this one and the unpainted one. The painted one takes longer to break in the pliers for easier operation, but still a great design and right selection of tools without being bulky. The included belt holster is perfect.

Great tool for small every day tasks
I use this tool almost every single day multiple times a day. I like this tool so much I actually gave the one I had to a co worker and ordered another. What you MUST understand about this tool and every multi tool is that these tools are jacks of many trades but masters of none. These are NOT heavy duty tools. If you need to do a heavy duty job buy a heavy duty tool for that job. Also prying with any multi tool will break it. The holes that the hinge goes through to keep the tools together are thin and will break if too much force is applied to them. It's the same reason you use a fixed blade full tang knife for heavy duty tasks over a folding pocket knife. The blade will break. Any hoo Use the right tool for the job and this thing will last for a very long time.*Update 2023* this thing has jumped in price by almost $40. since I bought my first one. I'm not sure this is worth over $70 personally. you would get better value if you bought a gerber truss or suspension.

great multitool
it's basically the same as the MP400, but with two knives, and it's slightly bigger and heavier. i think i prefer the 400 for EDC b/c it's lighter and scissors/single knife is a more versatile combination for me (cyclist/schoolteacher).Below are my thoughts (from the 400 review) about why cheap-but-quality multiools are the way to go: this tool is right on that price point between reasonably decent quality and cheap junk...but it's perfect! why? well, multitools, you carry them around. you use them a lot. and you almost never use the screwdriver as a screwdriver, yeah? it's always a pry bar or a chisel or a skeleton key for an old door...and eventually you'll bend, break, chip or otherwise ruin it. so why spend $100+ on a super-nice multitool and bend the driver the first time you use it (yep...i've done that!) get a cheap but quality tool that you can REPLACE when you inevitably break it!that said, my last gerber lasted about 4 years (before i lost it) as opposed to my $100 leatherman, which i broke a tool on immediately (not a commentary on their relative quality, which i'm not qualified to judge, just to say this kind of $*** happens with multitools)and, it comes with a SHEATH! a bargain at $40~

The best of all worlds
To say I've used a lot of multi-tools over the years is a vast understatement. I'm a IBEW Wireman, also a mechanic with 25+ years experience, my late father called me "the master of the mechanical stuff".It doesn't matter if it's an auto electrical repair fix for a stranger in the parking lot of a Home Depot, fixing work electrical circuitry at a family get together, or just random mechanical or electrical repairs during my every day travels I NEED a multi tool on me at all times. The Gerber MP600 is the one I keep going back to, it's not perfect, but it is a perfect balance of tools, weight, cost, availability. Other tools will perform SOME tasks better than the MP600 but my 20+ year experience with around 50 different multi-tools can attest that there is nothing on the market that can perform as well in ALL manner of repairs the same way that the MP600 does. You won't regret the purchase, just buy one.If you're on the fence about which one to buy just get the BASIC one, most of the specialty craft ones are just replacing useful tools with something that you already have in your bag that's dedicated for whatever specialty craft you're going to do (like going out shooting, fishing, etc.). You're going to end up with a useless flip out tool for 99% of the time you're carrying the thing. Just go with the BASIC because it's the best of all worlds. If you need a carbon scraper for when you're out shooting then buy a real one and throw it in your range bag.And for the love of <insert diety of choice> don't buy the EOD version unless you are actually punching holes in C4 and crimping detonators...

Most useful tool ever made
I’ve had 3 of these now. There was one in a Hesco container pallet in Afghanistan that I got to keep- insane useful for field stripping weapons so I could clean them, plus quick MacGyver fixes for trucks. That one lasted me 4 years until I lost it. My wife bought me another one (2015). That lasted me until yesterday (May 2020) when I flipped out my pliers and the one of the pinch locks slipped the retainer clip and the spring flew off into the dirt. I couldn’t find it and I couldn’t find replacement parts, so we ordered another one. This thing is indispensable as a construction worker, heavy equipment operator and truck driver. I’m you can use it for anything and everything and it’s bulletproof. I’ve had other types and they always break within a few months. For any tool to last me and my abuse multiple years is a miracle. I absolutely love this thing and I’ll keep buying them as long as Gerber keeps making them! $50 every 5 years for something I use as frequently as this is a bargain!

Slick, good looking, great price.
I'll admit it: the first 5 minutes spent with this tool were incredibly frustrating. Having lived with Leathermans(TM) before this Gerber, it did not work the way I thought it should. AND no instructions! So strange. After cursing it for a few minutes, I discovered the two 'buttons' and lo, my life changed. This is a fantastic multitool. So great. Sturdy, excellent workmanship, and getting it open takes 0.5 seconds. Or less. Gravity is awesome. Hold it plier point down, press the two buttons and bam! slides out and you are good to go. It is really slick.Great price too. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a new multitool.

Alles dran was man braucht ohne Schnörkel und Schnick Schnak. Stabil und solide verarbeitet.

The best
Better than any Leatherman. These are one of the best multi-tools I've ever had (I've had a few over the years). Well worth the money and cheaper than most Leathermans. Gerber really do produce some great quality, except the Bear Grills range, which I would steer clear of.
