TW6040 Elasto-Gel All Purpose Therapy Wrap

Highly recommend. I ordered the same product used at my Physical Therapy Facility, because I liked using it there so much. I would recommend buying the 9 x 30 size. It can cover the entire length of your back, leg or arm, as well as covering smaller areas pictured on the box, like elbows and knees. It is much longer than it appears in pictures. It can be used for heat or cold, however; I only use it for icing inflammation and to numb pain, which it is excellent at. I have numerous lower back problems, including stenosis, pinched nerves, slipped vertebrae and arthritis. Like many back pain sufferers, I find little relief from pain medication, and this product numbs back pain for me. The coldness does not last as long as a frozen ice pack that you buy in the dollar store, but it is infinitely more comfortable and covers much larger areas. Also, it quickly becomes cold again when you put it back in the freezer. It's a bonus for me that, should I need it, it can also be used as a heat wrap. The product is of very high quality. Just remember to take it out of the blue sleeve to freeze it!

I will cut to the chase ~ I'm a nurse, and have seen ElastoGel wraps used as a source of cold or heat transform people's healing success for the better every day. Keep one in your freezer at all times. The value of these wraps to reduce swelling post-injury is priceless! They're comfy, they hold cold or heat for a good period of time after you place them around an affected area, and they bring a totally wonderful sense of relief. I was not exaggerating when I say I have been using mine since 2003. Knee surgery landed me in physical therapy where I first got the Elasto-Gel wrap. Second surgery in Dec 2022 I couldn’t find it so ordered another. That is when I found the first one. It had been in the freezer all this time. So I have a back up. Other family members have used it for sprains and other injuries that needed to be iced. It never gets hard, but stays flexible (even after being in a deep freeze for a few years). If your injury has an ace bandage and then sweatpants the cold will still penetrate. Keep the plastic bag to put the wrap back in it before putting back into the freezer. You may want to take a paper towel and dry out the inside of the bag. The wrap should NOT get wet. I could completely wrap my joint. Best part, no leaking ice getting your clothes wet, it feels great when you wrap your injury limb, and you can use it flat, like for your back. It can be microwaved for a hot wrap, but I have never used it for that, yet.

I struggle with a knee injury. We already have the Elasto Gel for shoulder injuries and I have been using that for my knee which works fine sitting on the couch. But- hard to wrap around the entire knee. Love Elasto-gel - works great. I struggled to select the product- people comment on 'gets warm' or 'knotts'. Elasto'gel is not ice. It doesn't melt- no drips. Keep it in freezer and always cold when you need it. This size is perfect for knee or any body part. I don't ever have a problem with it warming up on me- I need a pillow case or towel at first (I'm sensitive to cold)- then I remove and use just the elasto-gel. I use for 30 minutes at a time- perfect. I will always get elasto-gel. But with the shoulder and this product- should never need another.Have not tried either in microwave yet.

My mother had a knee replacement and was using ice water with a wrap that you wrapped around knee. When we went to therapy they used this one and it was so much more comfortable and easy to use. She felt much more relief with it and it totally wrapped around the entire knee. It will be nice to have for other strains etc.-great quality. Doesn't take a lot of freezer space either though we bought the largest one. You can't go wrong. We only keep it on for 20 minutes and it lasts for that long. Addendum. I ordered this for my brother in law when he developed a knee effusion. It works so much better than the ice packs This is the 3 rdd one I have purchased as they work very well The first one still works well after 3 years.

I have three Elasto-Gel products after making the mistake of buying a cheaper solution in the past, and after using the Elasto-Gel at my physical therapist I won't use anything else. The cheaper ice wrap gets very hard and does not adequately touch my injured area until it defrosts a bit. The Elasto-Gel does not get frozen hard ever but does get very cold. I have a shoulder wrap and ankle wrap, and this wrap is for my elbow tendonitis but this in the large can be used on your knee, quadricepts, or even around your torso for the lumbar/lower back or intercostal/rib area. I easily could have gotten the medium size as this goes around my elbow 2+ times.

It gets cold for a while but doesn't stay that way very long. When the cold is gone.....it is very heavy and if your limbs are painful or if you need put it on your foot......it feels like it is difficult to use your extremity. Also lifting it when the limb is painful....hurts./ Do not buy this.......Ice in several plastic bags, to avoid spilling, works much better and longer and costs virtually nothing.

Purchased on line vs. from our physical therapist office as half the cost and exactly the same thing. My husband had knee replacement surgery and this was a godsend! Traditional ice packs simply lay on top of the skin - this wraps all around the knee giving comfort over the entire surfaces - front and back. I would purchase any of the elasto-gel products for other needs as well should the occasion arise as we are very impressed with the quality and results! Stays cold for a long time and doesn't take up a lot of room in your freezer. Well worth the cost!
