I have used these for years. These particular sticks that have recently been purchased wear down much quicker than items I have used in the past. Vendor is sending me another stick to see if performance improves.

Good Grill Cleaner but Not as Hard as Before
To clean my grill, I use pumice stone a couple of times up and down the grates, and then I use three folded wet paper towels placed under the pumice stone for a couple of more trips up and down the grill. Shinny clean grates. I clean the grill when it is very hot, so the wet paper towels brown up a bit but the grill cleans much better hot. The paper towels remove all pumice stone residue.The first couple of pumice stones I bought were very hard and lasted a long time. The newer ones are softer so they wear much faster. I guess they weren't selling replacement stones fast enough when they were hard. I took off a star for softer.
